Harvest Moon?
Who: Zetta -- one open prompt, one closed.
What: The Overlord of Equestria works on a farm, then goes to dinner.
Where: Sweet Apple Acres, then Ponyville.
When: 2/14
Warnings: Probably some general lewdness. This is Zetta.
Open
Overlord Zetta, the most badass freaking Overlord in the entire cosmos, alicorn and technical Prince of Equestria, strolled down the path that wound through the Sweet Apple Acres orchard, pulling a cart as he walked. Periodically, he paused, ducked his yoke out of the hooks that harnessed it to the cart, then moved over to a tree to give it a couple of good solid kicks. He wasn't an Apple and didn't quite have the knack for it, so his blows didn't cleanly blow all the apples on the trees off like one of theirs could, but persistence and practice meant that it only took a few before the last apples tumbled off the trees and into the cart.
Of course, this was Zetta, and appearances were everything -- the moment he caught even the slightest him of someone approaching or even watching him over the fences, his expression turned from general good cheer to a sulky scowl as his head drooped.
Closed
As the day came to a close, and with it the winter work on Sweet Apple Acres, the Overlord at last sought out one of his fellow ponies in the field. By the time he found Applejack, he'd swept up a small bouquet of flowers, which he wasted no time in offering up to her on the wings of magic.
"Hey. Could I have the honor of your company for a Hearts and Hooves Day dinner?"

"Hey. Could I have the honor of your company for a Hearts and Hooves Day dinner?"

Given Applejack's down-to-earth sensibilities... "I figure we'll just hit someplace in Ponyville. Doesn't need to be something fancy to be a good meal."
no subject
"Works for me. But we've also gotta get you nice and full," she teased. "'Course, I can always handle that back home."
no subject
no subject
And as they set off: "How'd you like a day off tomorrow?"
no subject
"Only if you're taking one too." Really, why bother if he couldn't spend it with her?
no subject
It was strange...being in such a familiar yet unfamiliar place, with people who were her family but not hers.
"Boy am I glad you're mine," she muttered, her head grazing his wing.
no subject
With her pressed against him, Zetta swallowed against the pressure in his throat, face still burning. "But I got the best one," he added, much more quietly.
no subject
She responded by leaning up just enough to brush a kiss.
"Ain't you just the biggest charmer. Now how about we grab a bite before I get too distracted to move, huh?"
no subject
"Yeah, I'm starving." And proving the point by saying as much instead of finding some way to hit on her. He'd worked harder today than most people would give him credit for. "I could eat one of those trees."
no subject
Named in loving memory of Twilight Sparkle's dearly departed favorite tree, even. "But we'll get you fed. We have a reservation, or should I send a scroll ahead?"
no subject
Or rather, if he'd have to go forcibly pull her away from work.
no subject
And she did, writing in her usual hasty scrawl--
Afternoon, folks! Do you happen to have a spare table for Overlord Zetta and me? We'll take anything at this point, don't you fuss too much about us. I know it's a little late.
Thank you kindly for your time and consideration.
-Sincerely, Applejack
She sent it with a small giggle. "Think that oughta take care of it. Now...no need to rush there, hm?"
no subject
But, well, times change, and so do Overlords. Once the message was on its way, he just leaned into her hard with a grin. If there was no hurry, she wouldn't complain if he pushed her down and kissed her silly, would she?
no subject
After that, though, she wiggled backward. "All right, mister, I think we oughta pace ourselves. Can't eat all the apple fritter before your salad or you'll make yourself sick."
no subject
"I'm Zetta! I could eat apple fritters all day and all night and still want more!" Her metaphor didn't work on either level (as he had proved in the past!), but Zetta let her squirm free and untangle their legs so they could get back to their hooves, all smiles.
no subject
She staggered to her feet, reaching up to tip her hat back into place. "Alright, then, let's get moving!"
And so she did, shuffling beside him at a pleasant pace. No need to go straining herself before a good meal.
no subject
But he shook it off quickly enough, falling into step beside her. Oh yeah, he definitely wasn't in a hurry -- honestly, he was more interested in playfully, teasingly bumping his shoulder and flank against hers as they walked.
no subject
"All right, cowboy, looks like we're here."
She straightened her posture, prepared to present herself in style. Her aunties from the big city might even be proud.
And, as she typically did, she darted to be the first to gently kick the door open.
no subject
Tossing his head back so his mane flamed out in a flash behind him, Zetta waltzed straight through the door, radiating smug confidence every step of the way. He got in no further than a step, though, before he stopped to wait for his partner. Half courtesy to her -- half an insistence that everyone here see her on his metaphorical arm.
no subject
"Thank you kindly for waiting, sugarcubes. One for Overlord Zetta and Applejack, please?"
And despite her gleeful tone...she was sincere about it, as usual.
no subject
The host, having received that message she'd sent and chalked it all up to this very weird alicorn's attitudes and habits, simply nodded his head and led them off to a comfy table for two.
no subject
"So...lemme guess, good cider and sharing plates, right?"
Somehow they always found ways to continue to flirt during dinner. She was already starting, snapping up the napkin and draping it across him with a flourish.
no subject
Zetta cocked a foreleg on the table, leaning in so she could work. "Sounds like a plan to me. Heck, anything else would be disappointing."
