Where: Smack dab in the middle of Ponyville. And around Ponyville. And maybe a little outside Ponyville too.

(Pssst. Check out the story so far to get an idea for what's happened prior to this point!)

It all happened in a flash. Short earthquakes and aftershocks rocked some of the buildings in Ponyville as a magical explosion wreaked its own brand of havoc across Equestria. Once the dust settled, however, the Ponyville ponies realized that there were some newcomers in their midst. Ones that were definitely not there before the explosion. So where did they come from, and how did they get here? Did the explosion bring them here?

Luckily, the actual damage from the earthquakes was minor, and there were no actual downed buildings, just some that were now slightly cracked and in need of repairs.

The natives slowly closed in on the newcomers, warily eyeing them and wondering what their intentions were. But rather than looking angry or upset, they just looked confused and curious. Why not introduce yourselves to them, and to each other?

The official royal welcome wagon might even show up soon!

Sunset frowned deeply. That was...most definitely not good. Her mind raced with worry.

"Oh! I wonder if---Fluttershy---the one from here, not the one from CHS---mentioned something about two new ponies and a machine disappearing."

She sighed. "I'll keep us out of trouble as best we can, but if there's anything we can do, please tell us. We all love her."

[burningbrighter]

"Sure thing," she laughed, opening the door. "It's...really pink in here, huh."

[caelum_ignis_draconigena]

"Even if it is a dream, it doesn't mean it can't be real too." He gives her a small smile. "That's the spirit. You'll get through this and do just fine."

Seeing her perk up a bit makes him glad. "My name's Skyfire... If you want someone to talk to any time, feel free to come find me?" Not that he even knows where he's staying yet, but hey, more friends are always good.

"I'm still so sorry," sobbed Pear into her daughters shoulder before pulling away to look at her, tracing a tear away from Applejack's eyes.

"You're so big...! When I last held you, you were just a tiny filly. You hadn't even gotten your cutie mark yet, and your brother... is he here? And little Applebloom?"

Pear's eyes were full of tears as she rubbed them. "I'm sorry but you look just like your father and I... It's hard to take in that tiny filly I held is now a full grown mare."

"Thank you Skyfire. You're honestly the first dragon I've met to be honest." said Pear with a smile.

"And thank you for talking to me."

[usedpartycannon]

"Totally! It's my kind of place. Mmmm, smell that chocolate in the air!" Exclaimed Pinkie.

"I have no idea what you're talking about AJ, but I'll run with it." Said Pinkie, and it would be here that while she was dressed like the previous Pinkie from the human world, she sported a geode around her neck.

"But hey! It's best if we make friends again! We still good, cousin?"

[appletastic]

"You'll find 'em, Ma, but...I'm afraid it's a bit complicated." She heaved a sigh, winding their forelegs together.

"This ain't the Equestria I come from. There's a whole bushelful of Equestrias that are all mostly alike, but just a bit different. And this is the third one I've been to. So there's the Applejack who's supposed to be here...and then there's me. But there's only one of each of 'em so far as I know."

Maybe they weren't from the same Equestria, but...she was still her mother. She sniffled a little. "But no matter what...I'm here now."

[caelum_ignis_draconigena]

"You're quite welcome..." He gave her a slightly goofy grin "...and if you want to know a secret? I'm the first dragon I've met too." Well, not that much of a secret and more of a joke... but hey, if it made her smile.

[burningbrighter]

"Oh hey, it's the Cakes! Hi!" Sunset waved, looking just a little weirded out. Why wasn't Pinkie weirded out?

"And...it sure is. See anything familiar?"

[appletastic]

"Oh, you're not...oh," Applejack frowned. She remembered their last adventure together, to the tree...but it was all right.

"Don't worry over-much. It's just that...this ain't my first rodeo crossing Equestrias, and I thought you were a Pinkie I saw before. But you're always family."

[usedpartycannon]

One would expect Pinkie not to be weirded out but instead, she grinned and waved.

"Some. They're missing the mixers for the sodas. Oh hey other me!"

And there's another Pinkie where she goes and does a little hop skip and dance.

[usedpartycannon]

"Of course we are! I mean, it's not like I decided to roam the multiverse on a souped up motorcycle built from a transforming robot and managed to penetrate the universe with you riding shotgun with me to find a magic tree of power. That'd be just something another one would do!"

Pinkie What?

"So, I scored us some muffins, want one?" She pulled a box from her mane.

[the_perfect_pear]

"Really? I didn't think ponies could become dragons," said Pear with a tilt of her head.

That was an odd statement. Who wouldn't be a dragon if they weren't one already?

[the_perfect_pear]

"I'm starting to realize that," said Pear with a shake of her head. "It's all beeswax to me but... I'll take your word for it. I mean, you're both my daughter, like I am your mother. And I'm sorry that I left all of you."

She hugged Applejack. "I won't leave for as long as you need me."

[caelum_ignis_draconigena]

"Lets just say it's a long story, and that I didn't start out as either a pony or a dragon..." He chuckles softly. "The full story would take several hours to go through, but of you'd like a distraction sometime once I know where I'm staying, I'd be glad to tell you some of it?"

Now this sounded like a story. Pear smiled as she nodded. "I'll take you up on that offer later on then. Thank you."

If Nephenee was actually not, well, Nephenee, or had been in the presence of her husband, that might have actually been noticed as a potentially dirty question. But Morgan isn't here to make the joke himself, and Nephenee is Nephenee, so it flies over her head and over her feathered friend.

What doesn't, however, is that familiar voice - one that makes her freeze in place for a moment as she processes it.

"!" It comes out as a strangled noise of surprise, and she simply stares at him for a moment as she remembers.

[appletastic]

Applejack grinned sheepishly, pulling them upright with a gentle sigh.

"We're Apples, Ma. We stick together like pigs and mud. I mean...we all still live on the farm with Granny Smith! Ponyville might be a bit different than you remember, but I'll tell you anything you want to know. Uh, assuming I know it."

Please, warm yourselves by our hearth, take a rest from your journeys. Life is not a race, my friends...
He'd shown them hospitality in a cold and desolate place as they searched for the truth about a young man's involvement with so called heretics.

But truly, I could not wish for finer allies...
He'd valued their friendship.

You yet have allies upon whom you can rely...
And in turn was a true friend. He and House Fortemps had given them shelter and succor after they'd been forced to flee Eorzea proper after the incident in Ul'dah.

Oh, do not look at me so. A smile better suits a hero...
And he took the blow meant for them, and even with his dying words, he tried to keep them moving forward, and he'd succeeded. They had stopped Thordan, and Nidhogg, both with his help, even from beyond the veil.

And even after saving Ishgard and Ala Mhigo and Othard, her thoughts had turned often to their friend. Even if he had only been that, almost a brother, he had also been one that had supported completely and did everything to help them that he could...

"I won't lie, I almost got lost getting to the main street. The town is so big now, compared to when I was young."

And Applejack, oh my stars was she so big and healthy. It made her smile as Pear asked, "Does Granny tell you about me and your pa when you ask?"

Because she wasn't even certain if Applejack knew about her half heritage either. She certainly never got a chance to talk about it.

"Looks like it. I guess." A (maybe?) familiar face pops up, folding his wings. "There's not much to really save - we just kinda all got caught up in some weird timespace anomaly and... well, here we all are."

No, not lord. It's far too formal for this.

"...Haurchefant?" Her voice barely works, but her legs and wings certainly do of their own accord, and before she knows it, the Warrior of Light throws her hooves and wings around him in a tight embrace. "Oh my Celestia, you're alive!" Those aren't tears pattering on your fur, what are you talking about?

"Those would be Princess Twilight's newest friends, yes." She paused. "They appeared about a month ago alongside a strange machine. We still don't know what it is, but now it, Princess Twilight and the other two are gone." She looked over her shoulder at the CHS ponies.

"You may do what you wish, in terms of searching for an answer, but I fear you will run into the same problem that I did. All we can do now is wait, I'm afraid."

"You're quite welcome." He smiles back at her, but it's clear he's not entirely sure what else to say. He's not great with goodbyes either...
