Where: Smack dab in the middle of Ponyville. And around Ponyville. And maybe a little outside Ponyville too.

It all happened in a flash. Short earthquakes and aftershocks rocked some of the buildings in Ponyville as a magical explosion wreaked its own brand of havoc across Equestria. Once the dust settled, however, the Ponyville ponies realized that there were some newcomers in their midst. Ones that were definitely not there before the explosion. So where did they come from, and how did they get here? Did the explosion bring them here?

Luckily, the actual damage from the earthquakes was minor, and there were no actual downed buildings, just some that were now slightly cracked and in need of repairs.

The natives slowly closed in on the newcomers, warily eyeing them and wondering what their intentions were. But rather than looking angry or upset, they just looked confused and curious. Why not introduce yourselves to them, and to each other?

The official royal welcome wagon might even show up soon!

Amelie folds all four legs beneath her as she lies down.

“It was a different world and a different Fluttershy, I expect. My name’s Amelie, it’s nice to meet you.”

[shiningkindness]

She tilted her head curiously.

"I-It's...nice to meet you, Amelie. D-Did...you say a different Fluttershy? Was it...the one native to Equestria? Princess Twilight's Fluttershy?"

[onaroll]

A nod.

“I believe so? She did indicate that she had always been a pony, at least.”

Pause.

“...does that mean you are from, ah...Canterlot High?”

Strange, huh? Well, Pear offed her a small smile in return. "Waking up for me in general is strange, but being in a world where my daughter is all grown up is another."

"I'm Pear, by the way. Pear Butter."

The staring goes on just a few moments too long before Amelie shakes herself, startled.

“Bonjour! I’m Amelie.”

Pause.

“I’m sorry, I missed most of what you said because I was awestruck at your beauty.”

"I'd say!" She's in luck, because Priya loves giving them.

"I've never seen a world full of ponies, but it's the cutest thing *ever*!"

[okayprincess]

It didn't take but a second after he wrapped his hooves around her that she did the same to him, bouncing around with him. "I'm great! We're in pony land, Jean!" Bounce, bounce. "I don't know why we're in pony land, but it's all too cute!"

[onaroll]

Nod nod.

“I’m Amelie! Nice to meet you!”

"O-oh...!" Blink blink and a shy blush.

"Thank you, I didn't realize I was still good looking to everypony." Pear tucked a lock of curly hair behind her ear with a blush and a smile.

"Are you new here I take it?"

[onaroll]

“Just arrived today!”

A nice side effect of being covered in pink fur is that it’s much harder to tell when Amelie is blushing.

Or so she'd like to think, but as always, she’s the same ripe red color of a tomato and it shows up perfectly even through her fur.

"Hey, Twilight," the Overlord said as he strolled on past.

One skipped record-needle later, the Overlord backed right the hell up to look at the pony in obvious confusion.

"...Well, that's not right."

Yeah, that's a sign of a full blown crush in progress. Pear actually feels kind of flattered, knowing ponies still consider her attractive.

She giggled a little. "Ah'm sure you'll fit right in. Did you want a tour? I'm still re-learning the town myself."

ADORABLE ACCENT ALERT

“Ah! Yes!”

Pear giggled a little. Oh to be young, she was young too but still! "All right, let me show you around then. Um, just be forewarned, ponies haven't seen me in 10 years, so I might get some odd looks."

"All right, everyone! Listen up!"

Zetta had a natural gift for claiming attention. In part that stemmed from his physical presence, for he was a large and powerful pony, with a raw physicality about him uncommon to most ponies. In part one could attribute it to the feeling of power that hung around him almost like a mist in the air, heavy on fur and prickling on skin. Maybe it was because he was an alicorn, and thus possessed a gift for it.

Mostly he was just really loud, though.

"In these unusual circumstances I, Overlord Zetta, hereby decree you all to be under my protection! As such, you may feel free to travel and mingle without fear of harassment or persecution!"

Pausing, the Overlord considered his decree, then with a groan, ran a hoof down his muzzle. "This especially applies to however many Fluttershys are currently hiding in the trees or the soup kitchens or the hay bales or whatever the hell, so someone go drag them out and reassure them at some point." He coughed into his hoof, cleared his throat, then continued in his more booming tones of voice. "You need fear nothing while I, the most badass freaking Overlord in the whole damn cosmos, look out for you!"

“No worries! I won’t be paying attention to anyone but you!”

Oh my celestia, she was too cute. Pear had never seen anypony who could get such a crush so soon. She smiled, nodding. "Let's see... first is the markets. We'll find some nice things there, including my daughter."

[betweenlightanddark]

"Oh...I'm sorry to hear that."

It's always hard to lose a friend you care about and it was habit that Yukiko bowed her head in a silent prayer. "But maybe here...you've been given a second chance."

[onaroll]

Amelie nods attentively, not even slightly put off by the mention of motherhood.

Honestly, the idea that Pear Butter is older than she looks is a check in the ‘plus’ column for her.

“What does she sell?”

"She sells Apples," said Pear with a smile. "I'm Applejack's mother, so our produce is all apples."

[onaroll]

“Even though your name is Pear Butter?”

Amelie can occasionally pay attention to things that aren’t how pretty girls are.

"Size, maybe. Availability however...and besides, it's not the first time I camped outside." Yukiko shrugs like it was nothing. "I'm an adventurer after all; we do those things that no one else wants to or can't."

Skyfire paused in his search for information when he heard the sounds of distress, and it took him a moment to notice the pegasus trembling. He almost thought it was the same one from earlier, but no, there were enough differences that he could tell they weren't.

He hesitates a moment, but finally gives in and steps over carefully to at least try and check on her. "Are you alright?" She's clearly upset, but whether or not she wants his help, that's another question entirely.

"Yes, my father is a Pear, and I am too. For reasons, I took on the name Buttercup Apple when I married. But considering my circumstances, I might need to take on my maiden name."

A little sad smile there. "Bright Mac isn't here after all. My husband."
