It all happened in a flash. Short earthquakes and aftershocks rocked some of the buildings in Ponyville as a magical explosion wreaked its own brand of havoc across Equestria. Once the dust settled, however, the Ponyville ponies realized that there were some newcomers in their midst. Ones that were definitely not there before the explosion. So where did they come from, and how did they get here? Did the explosion bring them here?

Luckily, the actual damage from the earthquakes was minor, and there were no actual downed buildings, just some that were now slightly cracked and in need of repairs.

The natives slowly closed in on the newcomers, warily eyeing them and wondering what their intentions were. But rather than looking angry or upset, they just looked confused and curious. Why not introduce yourselves to them, and to each other?

The official royal welcome wagon might even show up soon!

Blink blink.

“Is that what she was? From the way she called me a human I thought she was an alien.”

Hmmm. So her first girlfriend was some kind of mermaid, huh...

That’s even better than she had hoped!

"Y-Yeah. She...actually wasn't from my world. She came from Equestria...this world, I guess. But she and the other Dazzlings - other sirens - ended up in my world and tried to take over Canterlot High."

He shrugged. "Beats me. Funnily enough, Daniel ended up as a Pegasus, and he's more bird than I am."

[onaroll]

Welp.

“Um. May I please have a moment to process that?”

[moneymatters]

"Strange." He considered it a moment more, then shrugged. "Bah, y'are what you are. And we're here, so we'd better make the best of it."

A pause, then he offered him a smile, with a particular knowing glint in his eye.

"At least we're here together."

[shiningkindness]

Realizing what she'd said, she gasped. "O-Oh...! I-I'm sorry. B-But...I mean, people can change. I never imagined she would ever date anyone, so if she was going out with you and cared about you, she must have change."

[takeittothebridge]

With a small smile, he nodded.

"Yeah. I'm glad you're here."

It made being in a strange place a little less intimidating.

[onaroll]

Okay yes. Amelie will latch onto that justification like she was a Remoraid.

“So you’re saying I redeemed a transdimensional mermaid supervillain with the power of love?”

Yes. Sure. Let’s go with that.

He wasn't treating it as anything less.

"Damn straight. It's not a question of ownership, it's a question of nature."

"It hasn't been that long," Zetta grumped, which to both of them meant clearly that it had absolutely been too long even if the actual time elapsed hadn't been so great. And her question brought a frown to his face. "Not yet, but if we're talking about mares who can look after themselves..."

"I've never seen one myself, just in books," said Megumin with a nod. "That's a pretty cool form though."

Helping Fluttershy drape the Blanket of Safety over her, she grinned and snuggled under it. "No prob! I figured the blanket would help."

"Did you get here at the same time I did?"

Sounds good to me. I'm going to probably sink a lot of time into researching this. And the Cutie Map, it could call anypony at any time!

[There was that map yes.]

What a story. It was almost unbelievable, and yet, Pear was there, standing in surprise. And alive.

"That's amazing, oh Applejack you've come so far!" Exclaimed Pear with a smile. "Imagine, friends with the princesses. I know our home has had the princesses blessing for a long time, but this is a step up!"

He shook his head. "You won't be. I'm just waiting around to find out what happened and where I can stay. I can just as easily do that and keep you company at the same time." Skyfire then gave her a small, sheepish smile. "Besides, it's nice to make a new friend."

Oh look, someone else new. Starlight's just going to sigh a little and catch Donald with her magic. "Whoa there," she said. "You're going to spaz out and throw your legs in all directions if you keep that up!"

Nodding quietly, Skyfire looks upset for a moment feeling like he really should know Billy somehow, before perking up a little. "Well, there's nothing that says we can't make some new memories right? I mean... why not?"

It might not be quite the same, but he couldn't think of a reason not to try. Who knew? It might help him recover his old memories at the same time.

While he's looking around the town, he'd find it hard to miss the large dragon sitting in an empty lot to one side of a building. Said dragon was trying to keep himself out of the way while alternating between looking through a tiny book and watching the locals going about their business... Well, the book is tiny compared to the dragon at least. To the average pony it's fairly large.

With a smile, she nodded. "It's possible. One of my best friends now had also tried to take over my school with magic once, and she was able to change with the power of friendship. So maybe having someone who loved her was what Aria needed."

That got a small smile from her, and she nodded. "O-Okay...thank you. Um...my name's Fluttershy."

[shiningkindness]

With a smile, she leaned against Pinkie a bit, already feeling a bit better. "Yeah...I do feel safer."

That might not entirely be the blanket, though.

"Gosh, I don't know. When did you get here?"

He chuckled a bit. "You still know more than me. I've never even heard of one before."

If he was being honest, though, he was kind of digging the look.

"Name's Bridge Nocturne."

[allthebadluck]

Surprised, he flails a bit in the air before looking over. "Well, it's not like I was expecting to have four legs today!"

Not having to worry about staying upright, though, he took the moment to concentrate on his horn, reigning in some of the discharging magic.

Amelie throws her hooves in the air.

“Hooray!”

Shr’s already rewriting reality in her head to match this new explanation.

She smiles, but after a moment a question pops into her head.

"But...how did you meet Aria?"
