Where: Smack dab in the middle of Ponyville. And around Ponyville. And maybe a little outside Ponyville too.

It all happened in a flash. Short earthquakes and aftershocks rocked some of the buildings in Ponyville as a magical explosion wreaked its own brand of havoc across Equestria. Once the dust settled, however, the Ponyville ponies realized that there were some newcomers in their midst. Ones that were definitely not there before the explosion. So where did they come from, and how did they get here? Did the explosion bring them here?

Luckily, the actual damage from the earthquakes was minor, and there were no actual downed buildings, just some that were now slightly cracked and in need of repairs.

The natives slowly closed in on the newcomers, warily eyeing them and wondering what their intentions were. But rather than looking angry or upset, they just looked confused and curious. Why not introduce yourselves to them, and to each other?

The official royal welcome wagon might even show up soon!

"Webbed feet? Were you a duck before?"

She had never heard of ducks walking around talking before... Still, he seemed to be doing a little better now.

"O-oh," said Serena.

What could she say at that but oh? That was mindboggling.

[Still a bit unsteady on his hooves, he looked up at her and nodded.]

Yeah. Still trying to get used to walking on all fours again.

[shiningkindness]

Glancing over towards the lot, she nodded. "Uh-huh...that would be fine."

Taking a few experimental steps, she looked up at him at his offer.

"U-Um...I-If it's...not too much trouble."

[shiningkindness]

Realizing how close she was, she gasped and quickly sat back.

"O-Oh...! I-I'm sorry! Th-That was so rude of me!"

[shiningkindness]

"O-Oh my goodness...Is everyone all right?"

Because an explosion like that really could've hurt someone.

"Sounds like a real rush. How big are the explosions you make?"

He knew he probably shouldn't be encouraging this, but he's genuinely curious.

Again? You've been on all fours before?

[Pear wasn't assuming he wasn't a four-legged pony but she was surprised.]

Did you need help?

"I think so! It didn't hurt anything here." said Pinkie.

"I'm sure it's all okay."

[explosions_are_awesome]

"Twenty to fifty foot radiuses," replied Megumin automatically.

They are that big.

"Yeah. Donald Duck."

That would the best introduction she'd get as he continued walking around, still getting more of a feel for how to move. Then he glanced over at himself.

"Being forced into a transformation is pretty suspicious...though I guess this is a little better than being turned into a pig."

Not by much, but still.

"Going from four to two is pretty disorienting too," said Starlight with a light shrug. "But four is easier to navigate."

"I've noticed a lot of newcomers weren't four-legged either before coming here too so I'm guessing whatever exploded is responsible for this situation."

[caelum_ignis_draconigena]

"Not a problem in the least. Just let me know if I move too fast for you." He gave her a small, reassuring smile. "I'm guessing this isn't your normal shape?"

[onaroll]

"Fiona's a very nice lady, other than that. Much easier to deal with than, say, the maid that thinks she's a robot assassin."

Still. Not. Joking.

"I'm starting to be glad that we didn't hang around the Chateau that long..." said Serena with a bit of a boggled expression.

[onaroll]

Amelie's completely off balance from that, so she has even less of a filter than usual.

"I didn't mind at all because you're really cute and I love compliments from cute girls!"

[onaroll]

"Prize money's worth it."

Pause.

"Also Diantha comes there sometimes and we have really good rematches."

[never_give_up]

"Prize money? You get prize money for winning?"

Guess who doesn't get prize money.

"Oh you know Diantha as well? Wait, you battled her too?"

[onaroll]

Blink blink.

“I said I was the Champion, remember?”

[never_give_up]

"Yes, but I didn't think that meant champion as in battling Diantha! The championships in my world boiled down Alain vs Ash!"

Serena doesn't know what's even going on. "This is a lot to take in, you've lived such a crazier life than I did!"

[onaroll]

She keeps mentioning this Ash person...eh, no worries.

“How does the League work in your world, then?”

[never_give_up]

"It's a tournament," replied Serena. "People from all across Kalos who obtain the 8 badges qualify for the Kalos Championship, and it's a winner take all championship. The winner gets accolades and the like."

[onaroll]

“Ahh. Once you’ve earned all eight badges, you make your way through Victory Road, an extensive cave system filled with other eight badge trainers, and at the end is the palace of the Elite Four. After defeating them all with no breaks, you battle the Champion.”

[never_give_up]

"Yours sounds so much more grueling than ours," admitted Serena.

"No breaks must involve a lot of potions in between battles. Most trainers only carry like one or two."

[onaroll]

“I had about twenty Full Restores, five Max Ethers, and more Leppa and Sitrus berries than I knew what to do with.”

Pause.

“And even then we had to conserve all our strength for Diantha, so I usually had just one or two of my team sweep a single Elite Four team.”
