A Flash, A Bang, A Flash...bang? An Uninvited Mass Of Mecha Ponies Arrive!

What: SHIT'S GOING DOWN. EVERYONE TO YOUR BATTLE STATIONS. (Or help ponies get away from the mess!)
Where: Canterlot and Ponyville.
When: 12/10
Warnings: You know you. Also violence. And possibly failed swearing. BUCK THIS CHEAT.

The investigation had been well underway underneath the Canterlot University in the Lab. Unbeknownst to them at the time, the sky in Equestria was darkening - and it wasn't nighttime yet. A loud sound crashes across the sky, and those ponies that would snap to attention looking in the direction it came from would notice that more new arrivals were coming - and they didn't look friendly.

In fact, they didn't look very emotive at all. And when the laser fire and robotic HI-YAHs started flying, the situation became clear - the very metallic ponies were enemies and needed to be stopped.

Get yourself geared up, or help the defenseless ponies to safety so they don't get hurt!

And be careful - more of these 'mecha ponies' keep arriving one wave after the next, in both Canterlot and Ponyville!

Keldeo was not alone, as a Braxien landed in the middle of the group, spinning around in a fantastic show of flame and heat. Driving enemies back, Serena called out, "Braxien, Flamethrower!"

Brandishing her wand, Braxien fired a blast of flame into the crowd as Serena watched from the back.

What the-- That was a Braixen! An ordinary Braixen! How did THAT get here, when everything else was a pony?! Another slash, followed by another, and two more robots were cleaved in half, finally giving him a moment to breathe. "What the-- Where did you come from?" he asked.

That was a miracle of the world probably. Serena grinned. "She's mine," said Serena as she moved closer to the pair.

"Braxien fire wheel!"

A miracle, quirk, whatever it was Jean was confused. Priya had been pulled over here too, and she was a pony. Why wasn't this Braixen?

"She's on your team? Wonderful!" Jean's confusion could wait until AFTER the battle was fought and won. Another mighty slash of his horn felled three more advancing robots in one blow. He moved like lightning, jetting himself nimbly around between targets, kicking them to set them off balance and slicing them asunder. He seemed in his element in close quarters combat.

Several more robots fell as Serena danced away from their attacks, and Braixen stepped between them. "Hidden Power!" commanded Serena as Braixen launched herself into the air and fired the shining orb into the middle of the enemies.

"Now follow it up with Fire Blast!"

"Brai!" Exclaimed Braxien, drawing the kanji for BIG as she launched it at the enemies. "That's the way, keep it up!" Exclaimed Serena.

Something did sort of nag at Jean as the fight went on and he listened to and watched the other combatants... Something he finally gave voice to when asked, "If you don't mind me asking, why can't your Braixen speak?"

"Speak? She can speak just fine, but do you mean human?" asked Serena, and Braixen shrugged.

"She doesn't speak human, just Pokemon language, but I understand her just fine."

"I don't want to give up one of my move slots for it," replied Braixen in her own Poke-language.

"But... All Pokemon can speak 'human'," Jean explained. "They can even look human! That isn't true for you...?"

"I don't," replied Braixen. "Like I said, I need to give up a move slot for it. And I'm not giving up Fire Blast for human speak."

Serena looked amused at the exchange. "We're from a different Pokemon world than you I'd imagine."

Jean cocked his head. "This world gets stranger all the time... I didn't imagine such a thing," he replied. "But perhaps we should deal with the current crisis at hand before we discuss this. An invading army seems like it's far simpler to wrap my head around!"

"Got it. Gotta keep Serena safe after all." said Braixen as she turned and traced another kanji for Big. "Fire Blast!"

"Fight well, my friends!" Jean replied, jetting off to slash up a few more attacking robots, making short work of them. It was like attacking training dummies back home or in the stadiums at school... Instincts kicked in and he was a whirl of swordplay.
