A Flash, A Bang, A Flash...bang? An Uninvited Mass Of Mecha Ponies Arrive!

What: SHIT'S GOING DOWN. EVERYONE TO YOUR BATTLE STATIONS. (Or help ponies get away from the mess!)
Where: Canterlot and Ponyville.

Warnings: You know you. Also violence. And possibly failed swearing. BUCK THIS CHEAT.

The investigation had been well underway underneath the Canterlot University in the Lab. Unbeknownst to them at the time, the sky in Equestria was darkening - and it wasn't nighttime yet. A loud sound crashes across the sky, and those ponies that would snap to attention looking in the direction it came from would notice that more new arrivals were coming - and they didn't look friendly.

In fact, they didn't look very emotive at all. And when the laser fire and robotic HI-YAHs started flying, the situation became clear - the very metallic ponies were enemies and needed to be stopped.

Get yourself geared up, or help the defenseless ponies to safety so they don't get hurt!

And be careful - more of these 'mecha ponies' keep arriving one wave after the next, in both Canterlot and Ponyville!

Canterlot - Outside the University

Screams and shouts littered the outskirts of the University as ponies rushed to get inside to safety, and some even trying to get out of Canterlot itself.

There was no doubt that some crap was going down outside, and the investigation team had to put their clue searching on hold to find out what the buck was going on out there!

[OOC: Anypony in Canterlot can reply to this as a top level or can make their own!

ALSO, feel free to NPC the robots if you so wish! They're simply metallic ponies with no distinguishing features that can shoot lasers and sometimes fight hoof to hoof.]

Baymax - Open

Oh no.

[Baymax is staring up into the sky as he waddled out into the grounds. There were mecha ponies everywhere, and he started waddling across the area, trying to herd scared ponies aside. Fortunately he looks non-threatening to the max, and many ponies were listening to him.]

It is not safe. I recommend evacuation. Contacting every Mirror Communication on the network. Communication achieved.

[Everyone else who were around would hear a quick message.]

I am Baymax. There are dangerous robots in Canterlot. Require assistance. I am not fast, or equipped for combat this moment in time.

WHOOOAAAAAAA!

[OOF. One rather small pony hit the ground fairly hard. A few seconds later he forced his head out of the ground and shook the dust off.]

Wh-Where am I? What is this!? [THOSE ARE HOOVES? HE THINKS? WHY DOES HE HAVE HOOVES--

Wait, he knows that voice!]

Baymax? [He looks around.] Baymax! Where are you!?

Apple White

The best thing about being a gem was the uppermost pinnacle of strength Apple had ever had. Spinning Save the Queen around she threw the ornate shield like a discus. It ricocheted off several heads before returning to her hand, and Apple slammed down on her defensive aura, flaring out like a wall.

"Of course the date had to end in a fight."

Amelie, meanwhile, is just opening up hoops beneath the mecha-ponies and letting them fall through to smash into other mecha-ponies.

“I’d say it was nostalgic but I don’t want to be nostalgic about it.”

Ugh. UGH. Why can’t their dates ever go peacefully?

Cirno- Open!

Just the sounds of everything was enough to make the filly take the axe off her back and let her full Tank mindset take over. A slight aura is visible around her as she charges out, glancing back to make sure everyone else there was okay or following. If anything she lets out a battle cry and swings it down into a near by robot and a cone of energy seems to come from her. She's trying to get a good portion of their attention.

Might as well see how well everything she learned from dealing with Curious Gorge translated here.

Re: Cirno- Open!

With the robots attention focused on Cirno, Mei unhooked her endothermic blaster and primed it. "Our world is worth saving," she uttered before leaping out in a high flying motion.

Coming down, she started picking off robots with headshots, a long icicle spike jutting from their head as she whirled, twisting the firing sequence into a freezing wash of charged water. The charged mist immediately coated several in blocks of ice.

"On your left," she called out to Cirno, firing a spike of ice across Cirno's back to slam into another robot, sending it to the ground sparking. Mei reloaded in a second and started backing up to prepare another salvo.

A mysterious person appears!

"Everyone, get away from the robots!"

Suddenly, a pony wearing a pink suit flipped into view, taking out mecha pony after mecha pony, addressing the panicking ponies who weren't fleeing. "If you cannot fight, try to get inside and stay safe! They will be taken care of before long."

Without further warning, she reared up and put both her front hooves together. "Power of the Griffin!" And with that, her front hooves slammed into the ground, creating a shockwave in front of her that took out an entire wave of mecha ponies.

"What the--!?" Finally making her way outside, Twilight did a double take at the sudden onslaught of mechanical ponies. "What's going on!?"

Not a second after she said that, she instinctively rolled out of the way, just in time to dodge a sudden barrage of lasers from the robots that heard her.

She wasn't a fighter. She couldn't take them head-on like this. But another round of lasers had her in the air, flapping her wings as best she could to stay airborne and dodge more and more lasers.

Skyfire - Open

As soon as he heard the screaming, Skyfire headed straight for it. He had been getting reacquainted with flying and he couldn't help the growl that spilled from his throat as he saw the 'robot ponies' attacking the locals.

"Drones..." Banking around for a landing, he landed on a couple of the robots with a loud 'THUMP' lashing out with his tail to send another flying away from the university building.

Whenever he spots someone fleeing for the building, he'll try and give them cover. "Go, get inside. I'll cover your back."

Otherwise he'd settle in to circle the building on foot, trying to keep the perimeter clear of the attacking robots and helping where he can.

Ponyville - Town Square

It was very clear that the new arrivals... well, arriving in the same place as the initial crew did weren't here to meet and greet - a crisis was on their hands!

To arms, ponies that can battle! Take out those robo ponies!

[When the lasers started flying, Pinkie was an immediate action girl.

Clutching her geode, she transformed in a flash of light as she pulled a bandoleer of sprinkles from her hair and strapped it on.]

Everyone inside now!

Godbert Manderville

Ho! What a sight. It's like the allagan bug incident all over again!

[Strode the Godbert back into town as he dropped the bag he carried as he stood up and drew his hammer.]

It seems, it is Hammer Time.

ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL

The battle was joined quickly by the Keldeo swordsman. He had been fairly quiet, trying to make sense of this new world and its new quirks, but one thing refused to change. If people were in danger, he would be there to help. That's what a knight did.

He made his grand entrance in true form, summoning up the power of his Secret Sword technique to cleave a robotic pony in half with one swipe of his horn, rescuing innocents who were not able to escape the onslaught in time. At least he could still use all of his Pokemon abilities in this new world... That would make things much easier, and would ensure that the robots had a very bad time. He whipped around to find another target, jetting about with water jets firing from his hooves to propel him quickly around the battlefield. His first thought was to protect people, second to holding the line and pushing back the advance.

Starlight Glimmer

[Once the robots started shooting up the castle, Starlight unleashed her full might onto the troops.

It was rare she had a chance to go all out, but this time, she was in prime form. Flying overhead, magic burning from her hooves, she galloped about, lassoing robots and slamming them into others before turning on a second and completely incinerating it.]

You. Will. Not. Harm. My. HOME!

Pear Butter

With ponies running, Pear was in a state of panic.

There were these things everywhere and she was scared for her family, so once she made sure Applebloom was with Big Mac and Granny at the farm, she had grabbed a frying pan and ran across the area, searching for Applejack or any other pony she could get to safety.

Coco Pommel

Although Coco doesn't have her powers anymore, that didn't mean she was gonna stand around being defenseless. She tries her best to direct ponies to safety as she runs around.

If any of the robots attack her though, she won't able to defend herself. Hopefully it won't come to that.

Ruby Rose

"EEYAAAAH! HA! HI-YAH! WHO-HA!"

And there's Ruby charging into battle, her Moogle holding her crystal close as she had swapped to Job Combination of Firebender and Monk. Back on Crystallis, it was called "Master Firebender". Ruby called it "Yang Mode."

"Alright, who else wants so, huh? C'mon, I'll take you all on!"

AU!Celestia

"Everypony keep calm! These other brave ponies will take care of things!"

Oh, good, Princess Celestia to the rescue! Though, it's quite obvious this isn't the one that appeared to them to welcome them. Another universe's Celestia?

"I don't want to step in, but if I have to, I will!"

When the last of the robo-ponies were dealt with, things seemed to return to a peaceful state... for about three seconds.

Suddenly, everyone across Equestria was hit with a sudden dizziness and blurry vision, before succumbing to total darkness.

They all saw the same thing, though they could not interact with anything -- one unicorn pony circling a large machine in the University's Lab. She seemed rather unsure of herself, but after a few more moments of hesitation, she nodded and pushed a button, causing the machine to whir and start up.

"What're you doing!?"

A pegasus pony rushed in, alarmed at what just happened. The unicorn jumped back in surprise, stammering over herself.

"I-I'm sorry, I-I just--"

"You promised, Lily! WE promised never to touch it!"

"I-I had to know! Something was pushing me, Velvet! Something was nagging at me--"

"We have to turn it off, right now!"

Both ponies set to work trying to turn it off, but neither could manage to do it. An alicorn came galloping into the room in alarm.

"What's going on? Why're you two shouting-- why is the machine on!?"

"We're trying to turn it off, but it won't--"

And in the middle of that sentence, the machine sparked, crackled, and all three ponies started trying to flee the room, before a giant flash filled the room.

When it subsided -- all three ponies and the machine were gone.

The vision ended, and all affected ponies came to, most likely a little dizzy for a moment or two while the effects wore off.

But the ones in Canterlot weren't alone - the three ponies from the vision had appeared near them while they were out. And all three were unconscious. One was very clearly Princess Twilight - but the other two were unknown - a white unicorn with a red mane, and a purple pegasus with a brown mane.

Oh, that was NOT a good feeling at all. Celestia would get back to her hooves soon enough, shaking her head.

"That... that wasn't a good thing to see..." She looked around at the other ponies. "Is everypony alright?"

Open to folks in Canterlot

Feeling dizzy and disoriented was common for those 'blessed' by the Echo. Yukiko shakes her head as she dusts off some random dirt from her hat and can't help but grumble. "Well, good to know it still works...and the timing as usual stinks for it." she's quiet and then sees the unconscious ponies lying on the ground.

"Hey!" She calls to any being around. "Someone go call a healer, quick!" Of course she knows a healing spell but it doesn't look like it would be much help...however, she's unsure. So...do any of the ponies look injured enough for healing spells to be used?

Meet Princess Twilight

The first one to come to was Princess Twilight, the mare stirring with a groan. "Did... we make it?" she asked quietly, her voice hoarse with thirst as she rolled over.

The mare seemed exhausted, but relieved as she came out of the recovery position with a groan.

Amelie just siiiighs. She really, really thought she was done with weird visions being beamed directly into her brain.

Oh well. Time to go find Apple!

Apple had just washed up after the vision, had to look presentable even after a big fight, right?

When she noticed Amelie, she waved. "Amelie! Over here!"
