A Flash, A Bang, A Flash...bang? An Uninvited Mass Of Mecha Ponies Arrive!

What: SHIT'S GOING DOWN. EVERYONE TO YOUR BATTLE STATIONS. (Or help ponies get away from the mess!)
Where: Canterlot and Ponyville.

Warnings: You know you. Also violence. And possibly failed swearing. BUCK THIS CHEAT.

The investigation had been well underway underneath the Canterlot University in the Lab. Unbeknownst to them at the time, the sky in Equestria was darkening - and it wasn't nighttime yet. A loud sound crashes across the sky, and those ponies that would snap to attention looking in the direction it came from would notice that more new arrivals were coming - and they didn't look friendly.

In fact, they didn't look very emotive at all. And when the laser fire and robotic HI-YAHs started flying, the situation became clear - the very metallic ponies were enemies and needed to be stopped.

Get yourself geared up, or help the defenseless ponies to safety so they don't get hurt!

And be careful - more of these 'mecha ponies' keep arriving one wave after the next, in both Canterlot and Ponyville!

When the last of the robo-ponies were dealt with, things seemed to return to a peaceful state... for about three seconds.

Suddenly, everyone across Equestria was hit with a sudden dizziness and blurry vision, before succumbing to total darkness.

They all saw the same thing, though they could not interact with anything -- one unicorn pony circling a large machine in the University's Lab. She seemed rather unsure of herself, but after a few more moments of hesitation, she nodded and pushed a button, causing the machine to whir and start up.

"What're you doing!?"

A pegasus pony rushed in, alarmed at what just happened. The unicorn jumped back in surprise, stammering over herself.

"I-I'm sorry, I-I just--"

"You promised, Lily! WE promised never to touch it!"

"I-I had to know! Something was pushing me, Velvet! Something was nagging at me--"

"We have to turn it off, right now!"

Both ponies set to work trying to turn it off, but neither could manage to do it. An alicorn came galloping into the room in alarm.

"What's going on? Why're you two shouting-- why is the machine on!?"

"We're trying to turn it off, but it won't--"

And in the middle of that sentence, the machine sparked, crackled, and all three ponies started trying to flee the room, before a giant flash filled the room.

When it subsided -- all three ponies and the machine were gone.

The vision ended, and all affected ponies came to, most likely a little dizzy for a moment or two while the effects wore off.

But the ones in Canterlot weren't alone - the three ponies from the vision had appeared near them while they were out. And all three were unconscious. One was very clearly Princess Twilight - but the other two were unknown - a white unicorn with a red mane, and a purple pegasus with a brown mane.

Oh, that was NOT a good feeling at all. Celestia would get back to her hooves soon enough, shaking her head.

"That... that wasn't a good thing to see..." She looked around at the other ponies. "Is everypony alright?"

"I'm okay!" Exclaimed Pinkie. "I just totally spaced for a moment though."

"I think we all did there..." Celestia said.

"Yeah. Oh hey, Principal Celestia? That you?" asked Pinkie curiously. "Just checking, you never know!"

"Princess Celestia. Well, I rightfully can't call myself that here, not when there's one already in this world." she corrected. "I'm guessing that there's a version of me from where you are, Pinkie Pie?"

"Oooooooh like the one here! Well yeah, we've got Principal Celestia and Vice-Principal Luna. They run the school where I attend." said Pinkie with a nod.

[relaxing_with_the_sun]

"So I run a school with Luna, hm?" she mused. "That's quite the thing..."

"Yeah! Though your other self got mind controlled once, so that was a thing. No wait, twice. We tend to forget about Sunset's little evil problem since it's a sore topic." said Pinkie, wincing.

Open to folks in Canterlot

Feeling dizzy and disoriented was common for those 'blessed' by the Echo. Yukiko shakes her head as she dusts off some random dirt from her hat and can't help but grumble. "Well, good to know it still works...and the timing as usual stinks for it." she's quiet and then sees the unconscious ponies lying on the ground.

"Hey!" She calls to any being around. "Someone go call a healer, quick!" Of course she knows a healing spell but it doesn't look like it would be much help...however, she's unsure. So...do any of the ponies look injured enough for healing spells to be used?

At the sound of distress, Baymax waddled over towards the unconscious ponies and Yukiko. "Hello, I have heard the sound of distress. I am Baymax, your Personal Health Care Companion."

"I see there are unconscious ponies laying there," he stated, scanning them. "Scan complete. I do not see any physical injury, excepting exhaustion and possible malnutrition. Please proceed to assist in placing them into the recovery position." His chest flashed with a diagram for the recovery position as well, demonstrating the procedure.

Meet Princess Twilight

The first one to come to was Princess Twilight, the mare stirring with a groan. "Did... we make it?" she asked quietly, her voice hoarse with thirst as she rolled over.

The mare seemed exhausted, but relieved as she came out of the recovery position with a groan.

"Twilight!"

Sunset had done her best to keep the hordes from reaching their small group, trying to pick them off from a distance, so she'd been far away when she fell. But upon returning to consciousness, she warped closer. Maybe a little too close...as off balance as she was, she'd ended up face-planting into the dust. She pushed herself up again with a snort.

"What happened to you three? Everypony's been worried sick. Oh, and uh...hi."

"Sunset?" asked Twilight, trying to regain her senses as she stumbled towards Sunset and practically fell into her arms. "It... it was strange, we were in a place, all I remember was getting the machine to work and then I passed out. The next thing I know, I was here."

[burningbrighter]

Sunset yelped, glancing back at the group worriedly. They'd need to make sure she was truly all right later, but for now...

"All right, so it worked...what was it meant to do?"

[horse_nerd]

"I can't be sure yet," said Twilight as she looked up at Sunset with a little tired smile.

"But I know is that we were someplace else. Someplace far away, at least I think it was. It took all of our efforts to repair the machine..."

She gasped. "The machine, did it make it here?"

[burningbrighter]

Sunset's frown was obvious. After all they'd done, for whatever reason... "It did, but in broken form. We only found the pieces."

[horse_nerd]

"In broken form? As in huge pieces or small ones?" asked Twilight, concern written all over her face.

"I'm worried what might be a result because of that."

[burningbrighter]

"Big pieces. We could read some of what was on it...but you're right. Something did happen, but the timing's off."

Sunset tapped her hoof on the ground, then glanced at her companions before turning to Twilight. "From what we've heard, after you left was when ponies from other worlds started appearing in this Equestria. Some of us are from alternate Equestrias, and there are others from all kinds of worlds. Human worlds similar to the one I live in now, but not really the same. And more."

[horse_nerd]

"How?" Twilight was bewildered at the statement.

"I mean... the amount of power required to start bringing people and ponies here, even with factoring in other Equestrias and the like... did the explosion really cause such a huge impact on our world?"

[burningbrighter]

We don't know the full extent of the damage yet, but...I'm assuming so. We'll need your help to fill in how this all happened.

[horse_nerd]

Right, right. We need to take stock of things, and make sure that we're back to normal, everypony I mean.

[She tried to get up and then her legs wobbled.] I'm too weak from all that work to repair the machine... sorry Sunset.

[burningbrighter]

It's okay, Twilight. I've been working on flexing my old magical muscles anyway.

[She will levitate her all the way to bed if she has to. And that's what she's doing now.]

[Bed. Bed sounded lovely as she smiled at Sunset.]

Just like old times, I suppose. You've always been good to me after all.

[She laughs brightly as they reach a bed---a bit quick, but teleportation does the trick.]

Well...not always, but definitely from now on.
