It's taken her the better part of a month to set up the transportation network, but Amelie finally has her hoops in pretty much every major city of Equestria now. She takes a moment to drop a message over the mirrors before finishing her preparations and stepping through a hoop to the center of town.

"Bonjour! This is Amelie; I was wondering if anyone wanted to join me for a little trip? I'll be going to various places using my portal hoops to sample the local cuisine; if anyone wants to join me I'll be in the center of town for the next half hour before I leave!"

Amelie is very much looking forward to spending an entire day traveling and eating, and that excitement is expressed quite clearly in her body language as she waits for anyone to show up.

Well this is a travesty that must not stand! Amelie is very quick to scoop up some hummus with the still-warm pita bread and presents it to Apple.

"Ahhh~"

Amelie is confident that once you taste this, Apple, you will understand just how much she is willing to sacrifice for you.

[cidery]

Apple took a bite of the hummus and pita bread, and she lets out a delighted noise. "Oh goodness this is so good!" She exclaimed.

Taking their own bites, Megumin and Twilight had to agree. "This is probably my favorite dish right now," said Megumin.

[onaroll]

"Right?"

If you were to ask her why she is so hype for hummus Amelie herself would not be able to tell you, but that doesn't mean it's not her favorite part of the meal so far.

[explosions_are_awesome]

"The taste is creamy and what's it made of?" asked Megumin curiously.

[onaroll]

"Chickpeas, lemon juice, and olive oil are the main ingredients!"

[explosions_are_awesome]

"I like it," said Megumin with a nod. "This is delicious and I could eat this all day."

[onaroll]

"I knew you had good taste!"

Amelie, don't look so proud of yourself, you didn't even do anything.

Sipping her wine and taking part of the hummus, it seemed like the food was just warming up. She noticed Megumin was starting to tire, and Twilight seemed still ready to go.

"The next course should be here in any minute," said Apple thoughtfully.

[onaroll]

And the minute is now! As the plate is set down, Amelie smiles.

"Oh, I gave him the idea for this one! It's deconstructed garlic bread - see?"

She indicates one of the two bowls placed among the toasted baguette slices.

"That's a paste made by mashing whole roasted garlic heads - what you do is take some of the butter in the other bowl, spread it on the bread, and then top it with the garlic paste."

[horse_nerd]

"Ingenious," said Twilight, taking her bread and putting some of it on, before taking a bite. "Definite A+, I like the texture of the garlic."

"It's kind of like the bread we had with the pasta, only heavier," said Megumin.

[onaroll]

"True...I do like how mild the roasted garlic is compared to the raw kind, though."

[cidery]

"I think it's because of the way it was cooked that it brought the flavor out but not too overpowering." said Apple, taking her own buttered and garlic paste smeared bread and chewing thoughtfully.

[onaroll]

"And it goes really well with just about anything, too! Mama uses it as the secret ingredient for her bouillabaisse."

A pause. Is that something Twilight knows? That humans are normally omnivores?

Did she just make it awkward.

[horse_nerd]

It IS something that Twilight knows about, as she spends some time in the human world once in a while.

"Ooooh bouillabaisse!" Exclaimed Twilight. "That's made of all vegetables right?"

[onaroll]

There are vegetables in it, yes! Amelie just won't mention the fish.

"Mama's bouillabaisse is the best!"

[horse_nerd]

It wouldn't weird her out as much as the others would to be honest.

"Sounds delicious. Maybe next time we'll get some bouillabaisse."

[onaroll]

"Sounds like a plan!"

Amelie is very calm, this is nothing to be upset about.

[cidery]

Surely there's vegetable-only versions. But in any case, Twilight continues with the food, as with Megumin and Apple, sipping her drink and chewing thoughtfully before moving onto another dish.

[onaroll]

Amelie, switching things up, butters a piece of pita bread and puts some hummus on one of the baguette toasts.

From her expressions, the buttered pita was not what she hoped it would be, but the hummus toast worked well.

It was starting to get well into the late night hours as Megumin groaned softly. "I think I'm getting pretty close to finishing," she said, belching into her hoof.

[onaroll]

“That’s fair. If you’re feeling crushed, I can make a hoop and you can borrow our couch for the night.”

[explosions_are_awesome]

Megumin thought for a moment and then said, "One more course. And I'm good."

[onaroll]

"Alright. I guess this lull in the presentation is to give us time to regroup? The next one will probably be the last one, anyway. Something to fill the last couple hours with."

There's a slight pause as Amelie lets that sink in, and then there's a clink sound as another bottle of alcohol is set on the table. Amelie inspects it curiously.

"Ah! Fernet! He really is bringing out his final trump!"

[explosions_are_awesome]

It did sink in as Megumin looked at the bottle. "Fernet?" She read the bottle and made a humming noise. "Is it supposed to be sweet or bitter?"

[onaroll]

"It's very bitter, but in a bracing way?"

Thinking.

"You'll probably think 'Oh no, what is this?' and then it'll be 'Wait, why do I want another?'"
