Where: Smack dab in the middle of Ponyville. And around Ponyville. And maybe a little outside Ponyville too.

It all happened in a flash. Short earthquakes and aftershocks rocked some of the buildings in Ponyville as a magical explosion wreaked its own brand of havoc across Equestria. Once the dust settled, however, the Ponyville ponies realized that there were some newcomers in their midst. Ones that were definitely not there before the explosion. So where did they come from, and how did they get here? Did the explosion bring them here?

Luckily, the actual damage from the earthquakes was minor, and there were no actual downed buildings, just some that were now slightly cracked and in need of repairs.

The natives slowly closed in on the newcomers, warily eyeing them and wondering what their intentions were. But rather than looking angry or upset, they just looked confused and curious. Why not introduce yourselves to them, and to each other?

The official royal welcome wagon might even show up soon!

That got a bit of a laugh out of him, though it was more in the "confused exhale" sort of way.

"I suppose so. You're the first familiar face I've seen."

For a given value of "familiar," considering.

[takeittothebridge]

"Yeah? I actually saw Daniel a little while ago, so you might catch him around sometime."

Looking over him, he couldn't help a small snicker.

"I'm a bit surprised, though. I kind of imagined you'd still be a duck."

[moneymatters]

"Daniel, eh?" He thought a moment, though that was interrupted at Bridge's snicker. He turned to look his way, then laughed some himself.

"Aye, but I'm no' complaining. By the looks o' things around here, I might've been something more akin to a regular duck than my usual self."

[takeittothebridge]

He laughed a bit. "Yeah, probably. But not like you aren't used to that."

[moneymatters]

"Well, no. But if you'll remember I also don't enjoy a regular duck form, much. At least this one is interesting."

[takeittothebridge]

"I guess that's true."

Glancing at Scrooge's horn, he motioned to it with a talon.

"So can you still use your magic?"

[moneymatters]

He shook his head, which had the amusing side effect of ruffling his fur.

"No, I haven't taken the chance to try, yet. I've mostly been getting my bearings."

[takeittothebridge]

He nodded a bit. "Yeah, I get that. I was trying to do that from higher up, but uh..."

He gestured to his wings. "Guess I'll have to get used to using these the way I got used to my wings back home."

[moneymatters]

He snorted- a rather equine sound at that -and started walking around Bridge, looking him over.

"Looks that way. A hippogriff in what seems t'be a world o' ponies." Scrooge came back around to the front and stopped, casting a speculative eye. "I wonder what caused that particular transformation?"

[takeittothebridge]

He turned his head to follow Scrooge, his tail flicking a bit. "Dunno. Maybe because it's half bird?"

[moneymatters]

"Maybe. But why not a pegasus o' some kind? I've seen them around here, so they certainly exist."

[takeittothebridge]

He shrugged. "Beats me. Funnily enough, Daniel ended up as a Pegasus, and he's more bird than I am."

[moneymatters]

"Strange." He considered it a moment more, then shrugged. "Bah, y'are what you are. And we're here, so we'd better make the best of it."

A pause, then he offered him a smile, with a particular knowing glint in his eye.

"At least we're here together."

[takeittothebridge]

With a small smile, he nodded.

"Yeah. I'm glad you're here."

It made being in a strange place a little less intimidating.
