Where: Smack dab in the middle of Ponyville. And around Ponyville. And maybe a little outside Ponyville too.

It all happened in a flash. Short earthquakes and aftershocks rocked some of the buildings in Ponyville as a magical explosion wreaked its own brand of havoc across Equestria. Once the dust settled, however, the Ponyville ponies realized that there were some newcomers in their midst. Ones that were definitely not there before the explosion. So where did they come from, and how did they get here? Did the explosion bring them here?

Luckily, the actual damage from the earthquakes was minor, and there were no actual downed buildings, just some that were now slightly cracked and in need of repairs.

The natives slowly closed in on the newcomers, warily eyeing them and wondering what their intentions were. But rather than looking angry or upset, they just looked confused and curious. Why not introduce yourselves to them, and to each other?

The official royal welcome wagon might even show up soon!

He doesn't know why, but that... flat tone of voice hurts and Billy might notice the confused mix of emotions on Skyfire's face.

"Oh... So this isn't your first time being dragged somewhere else? And you... you've met someone like me before?" He's curious, but also sad that he's not who the unicorn was looking for. "I'm sorry I'm not who you're looking for Billy." He doesn't even realize that he's let a name slip he hasn't been told yet... he's stuck on that deja vu feeling he's trying to figure out.

Billy blinks up at him. This isn't a mere coincidence. It can't be. But if he knows something, however small...

"No, and...I don't think it's yours either," he frowned. "I know this may be difficult to believe, but I need to amend my last statement. I think it may have been you. And something may have happened to your memory after that."

He steps closer. "I never told you my name. I've only told one other pony here, and you weren't in earshot---I would've noticed."

Skyfire tilts his head in the other direction, still trying to work out whatever it is that's gnawing on... something in the back of his mind. He lets out a quiet growl of pain and he shakes his head to try and clear it after Billy's explanation.

"You may very well be right... something about you is very familiar, but I just can't seem to focus on it. It hurts to attempt do so." He looks sad, partly for himself because he can't remember, and partly for Billy, because this can't be easy on him. "I'm sorry I don't remember."

Billy sighed. He was saddened, though the look on his face made it clear he didn't blame him. "I'm sorry too. I know it's frustrating to have missing memories. I know you don't have much of a reason to trust me yet...but I'll still help you, however I can. Okay?"

Nodding quietly, Skyfire looks upset for a moment feeling like he really should know Billy somehow, before perking up a little. "Well, there's nothing that says we can't make some new memories right? I mean... why not?"

It might not be quite the same, but he couldn't think of a reason not to try. Who knew? It might help him recover his old memories at the same time.

Billy agrees with a small nod. "I'll do my best. I know it's not your fault, it's the multiverse...it has its way of bringing together friendships and breaking them, every time."

"At least we have a chance to be friends again, old memories or not." He's trying to look on the bright side, even if something inside of him hurts because on some level he knows that he should remember Billy.

His ears perk. "Tell me about yourself? I mean, you already know me..." Skyfire settled himself down carefully in an empty lot, making sure he wasn't blocking the road or hitting anything. "I'd love to know some of what we did together." Honestly he was hoping he could jog his memories, but spending time with a friend was never a waste.

Billy started slow, curling down on the grass with a smile. "Well...I'm an inventor in high school...in your terms, that probably means someone who isn't quite adult yet but close. I was then dragged across the universe in a fight to save it, and finally I wound up in an Equestria much like this one. I don't think I know the meaning of normal anymore."

Skyfire's ears perk a little at the mention of him being an inventor, curious as to what he'd invented, but also able to see where they'd likely found common ground to talk about. Though his last statement caused Skyfire to chuckle softly.

"Normal? I don't think I'd know know normal if it came up and bit me... Being stuck on an alien planet, stuck in stasis and then waking up with a new shape... Not even taking into account getting pulled here... I think you're in good company."

Billy laughed, eyes wide and trusting as he looked up. "I know I am. And you'll know too. But I don't think you told me all about it even then....just how many times have you changed?"

He nodded, but then had to pause and think a moment. That, was a good question actually.

"I'm, not entirely sure to be honest. I suppose that depends on what you mean by 'changed'... I gained the 'dragon' shape somehow when I first crashed, and while I didn't really change shape much with my arrival here, I did become organic..." Skyfire then frowned "And who knows how many times it might have been that I don't remember..."
