Sleeping dragon? Not so much.

Who: Skyfire and whoever happens to find him.
What: He's sleeping outside while waiting for permission to set up a home, because he doesn't want to be a burden on the locals.
When: A couple of days after arrival, any time between the early evening and early morning.
Where: Random spots around the edge of town and the local forest areas.


It wouldn't kill him to sleep outside for a while, at least that's what Skyfire kept telling himself. During the day between the sun and walking around, he could ignore the cold, but he was finding that at night it was a different story.

Even though it wouldn't kill him, it didn't mean that it was a pleasant experience. Finding a place out if the wind wasn't too hard, but he was still feeling rather chilled. Being organic was really different from being his 'normal' self, he'd never realized just how sensitive organics were to different temperatures.

Being curled up with his wings covering as much as himself as he could manage made things somewhat better. Princess Celestia had been kind enough to agree to help find him somewhere he wouldn't be an inconvenience to the locals, so he thought he could handle being cold for a while... Still, he'd welcome a distraction as sleep was going to be rather difficult.

Her explanations had him both confused and intrigued by her abilities, also slightly concerned by the duplication ability... but too polite to say anything about it right now.

"I'll admit I'm curious as to how that works." He does startle a little as the blanket lands on his back, and he reaches around to grab it to get a closer look. "It won't do anything to wear you out or harm you to copy that many of them will it?" Skyfire wouldn't mind the blankets to be truthful, but at the same time he was worried about how that might affect her, plus already trying to figure out how to return the favor later.

Amelie shakes her head.

“It’s never taken me any effort at all to do. It’s actually gotten stronger the more I use it.”

She continued to make blankets as she was talking, and they’re starting to pile up.

Skyfire nods, but also watches her carefully for signs that she might be over exerting herself. He might not know anything about her abilities, but he had to wonder what the limits were... or even when to ask her to stop.

Still, the blankets are quite welcome, and if the copies were as good as they seemed, he'd try and find a way to sew them together later... He was not about to waste such a gift by discarding them. "Thank-you... um... My name is Skyfire..."

“Ah, I am the Grand Duchess, Amelie Felice Amaryllis.”

A pleasant smile.

Blinking a little, Skyfire looks unsure as to how he should be referring to her.

"How would you prefer I address you?" Because 'Grand Duchess' was royalty as far as he knew, and some royals could get offended by the incorrect address. Granted, she didn't seem the type, but he thought it better to ask.

“Call me Amelie!”

She’s a noble, yeah, but that’s not the same as royalty. She thinks.

He gives her a smile and a slight bow of the head. She might not be 'royalty', but often nobles were close enough. "Thank you for the blankets Amelie." Skyfire pauses and then adds "Is there something I can do to repay you for them?"

Amelie deactivates her hoop, returning her foreleg to her body, before smiling up at Skyfire.

“Tell me about yourself?”

Skyfire tilts his head, looking both thoughtful and a bit unsure. "What would you like to know?" Because he had no idea where even to begin, nor what she'd be interested in.

“What kind of place are you from?”

Look, Amelie likes dragons, she enjoys finding out about their habitats.

"That... is a somewhat complicated answer. Do you mean originally or where I was before being pulled here?" Pausing a moment, he shifts around and puts one of the blankets on the ground near himself. Offering her a place to sit near him, but also so she was out of what wind there was using his own body as a windbreak. "Either way, the explanation may take a while."

Blink blink.

“Is this not your first time being dragged to a parallel dimension or are you an alien?”

PLEASE BE AN ALIEN DRAGON THAT WOULD BE AMAZING

"Well..." He chuckles lightly, teasing her just a little bit "Technically to me you're the aliens..."

Well, he was an alien to Earth at least... Dragon? That could be debatable, anywhere but Equestria.

Judging from her starry-eyed look, you are now the Coolest Dragon.

Skyfire blinks and then fidgets a little at the way she's staring, he has no idea how to deal with a starstruck unicorn...

Don’t worry, the questions are about to start overflowing now that she’s processed.

“What’s the name of your home planet? Is everyone there a dragon too? What are your spaceships like?”

He can't quite help himself as he chuckles softly. "In order, Cybertron, no, and technically I was a spaceship..." Giving her a gentle smile he adds "I did say explanations may take a while."

Amelie mimes zipping her mouth closed with one hoof before sitting up a little straighter, ears perked forward.

This is like a dream come true for her.

"Where would you like me to start? Either way it'll take a while, you can always track me down again if you'd like me to tell you more." He didn't mind talking about his past, well, at least when it seemed like it wouldn't confuse or frighten people.

“If you were the spaceship does that mean you’re a robot?”

There’s a fond smile on her muzzle right now as she remembers something.

"Hmmm... depending on the definition, perhaps? Mechanical or inorganic life form may be more apt..." He considers things a moment and then shrugs. "It's close enough in most cases I suppose."

WIDE EYES. Wide enough, in fact, to make it plainly obvious that her pupils are tiny pink hearts.

“You are amazing.”

"You really think so?"

Skyfire looks just a touch embarrassed. He's never really had anyone react quite like this to him before... at least not that he can remember.

Nod nod.

“My home world has a lot of inorganic lifeforms, but the ones that can survive in space aren’t capable of escaping the gravity well. So your civilization is either a lot more advanced or you, personally, are extremely powerful.”

"I would say more advanced, but then again, that could be a matter of opinion as well. We're older so we've had more time to develop as well." He pauses to consider that last statement and then shakes his head. "I wouldn't consider myself extremely powerful, just better suited for some jobs. There are Cybertronians stronger than I am, also faster, even larger, but generally our... body types tend to have a great influence on what we end up doing."
