It's taken her the better part of a month to set up the transportation network, but Amelie finally has her hoops in pretty much every major city of Equestria now. She takes a moment to drop a message over the mirrors before finishing her preparations and stepping through a hoop to the center of town.

"Bonjour! This is Amelie; I was wondering if anyone wanted to join me for a little trip? I'll be going to various places using my portal hoops to sample the local cuisine; if anyone wants to join me I'll be in the center of town for the next half hour before I leave!"

Amelie is very much looking forward to spending an entire day traveling and eating, and that excitement is expressed quite clearly in her body language as she waits for anyone to show up.

"Sure I'm okay with that. It would be fun being one again." said Apple.

"Should we surprise the other ponies with our fusion then?"

[onaroll]

“Yeah! Let’s just start dancing in the middle of the market!”

Overhead, Joyuese is still on fire.

“Connie once said she had fused with Rose Quartz’s son even before she was a Gem. Would it be alright with you if I fused with Megumin?”

Amelie doesn’t talk about Rose Quartz much, but the few times she has in the past it was clear she was someone Amelie respected. If she’s bringing that up now, it’s probably a more serious question than it seems.

"I don't see why not, we both really like Megumin so even I could probably do it," said Apple thoughtfully.

"And Serena too, you could probably fuse with her as well."

[onaroll]

"Well that's just a given."

Amelie stretches a bit - she doesn't really get that pins-and-needles feeling any more, but the habits she built up over her life to avoid it are pretty hard to shake.

[explosions_are_awesome]

Returning a few minutes later, the pair looked refreshed as Megumin said, "How are you two doing now? Okay?"

"We found a stream so we dipped our hooves in for a bit." said Twilight, grinning from ear to ear.

[onaroll]

"Oh, good for you!"

Looking up at Joyuese, Amelie whistles in a particular pattern and he wings down, the fire surrounding him flickering out.

"Got enough exercise?"

Joyuese nods, and Amelie opens up a hoop for him to return home with.

"I think we're good, unless you two want to relax just a little more?" asked Twilight, checking the sun. "It's been almost fourty-five minutes."

[onaroll]

The long, slow sweep of Amelie’s lashes as she blinks looks almost lazy.

Then she proceeds to explode into motion, rolling onto her stomach and springing to her hooves as she opens a hoop, her entire body briefly glowing white as she shapeshifts herself clean.

“RUN.”

She refuses to be late to this!

The three take off after Amelie, surprised at her sudden action. "This is the highlight of the night I believe," said Apple as they chased after her.

"Oh good!" Exclaimed Megumin.

"What's the highlight?" asked Twilight.

[onaroll]

Amelie skids to a stop in front of the last restaurant, ‘A Nice Place To Eat’. Walking in, the group is greeted by a green-coated unicorn stallion wearing red framed glasses who seems to recognize both Amelie and Apple.

“Bonjour! Are we late? I’m sorry about that.”

Silver Skillet shakes his head, indicating that no, they’re just in time. Amelie lets out a long, slow sigh of relief before she looks him right in the eyes.

“Okay, so - that’s Princess Twilight, she’s agreed to perform the ceremony for us, that’s Megumin, we’ve basically decided she’s our sister. I am very fond of both of them.”

Amelie nods to herself before leaning closer.

“It means nothing. Crush them just as hard. No mercy.”

With a grin, Silver Skillet nods before trotting off to the kitchen, indicating their table as he goes.

Sitting down next to Megumin, Apple smiled. "You two are in for a treat," said Apple.

"Oh I can't wait," said Megumin as Twilight looked around.

"I think I've eaten here once before..." She murmured. "Before I was ascended."

[onaroll]

"Ah...so yesterday I spent most of the day making sure I could connect to all the hoops I left in each city, and at each one I picked up some ingredients Silver Skillet wanted. So in exchange, he's going to do his best to crush us."

Slight pause.

"Basically he's going to send out as many dishes as possible, and either we'll all collapse or it'll hit midnight before it ends."

[horse_nerd]

Twilight looked faintly alarmed at that for a moment. Before she chuckled. "I expect nothing less. I've been crushed by Applejack before during family get-togethers. My belly sagged to the ground."

"... want," said Megumin, drooling. "I hope I have enough room."

Apple giggled. "You can stop when you can't eat anymore but only when you can't eat anymore."

[onaroll]

As they chat among themselves, the first appetizer arrives - four servings of cotton candy, glowing from within.

"There's a light spell on the sticks for the effect, but the actual trick is that it's smoked for extra flavor. Pear Butter let me take a fallen branch, so now they have enough applewood to smoke things on for the rest of the year."

...does Twilight know about Amelie's duplication power?

"Oh this is beautiful!" Exclaimed Twilight, floating her cotton candy towards herself. "wait you can do that?"

[onaroll]

"Oh, they use a indirect method - by piping the smoke away from the fire you can add the flavor without exposing it to heat."

Amelie is assuming that Twilight knows about her power and is therefore explaining something else entirely.

[horse_nerd]

"O-h I see," replied Twilight, nibbling at her food. "This is really good!"

[onaroll]

The thing about cotton candy is that it disappears almost instantly, and now Amelie is holding a glowing stick. She spends a few moments looking at it before opening a hoop and placing a duplicate inside it.

As she places the original stick back into the holder, she glances over at Apple for an instant before glancing away. She appears to be slightly fidgety; she probably has something more planned.

She probably does, and Apple is finishing off hers before Megumin does next and Twilight last. Placing their sticks into the holder, Apple said, "Well, now the real fun begins."

[onaroll]

Next up: sandwiches. They arrive piping hot, the bread a golden brown, red filling oozing down the sides.

“Grilled peanut butter and jelly. I picked up the maple syrup they made the jelly with, and they smoked the raspberries, too.”

Before they can start eating, though, something else comes - maple milkshakes to accompany the sandwiches.

Twilight looks at the food, rubbing her chin before she takes a bite. "Oh this is good stuff," she proclaims, sipping her maple milshake. "Mmm what a nice taste!"

"It's smokey and it's in a good way, the fruit compliments the peanut butter," said Megumin.

"It is very delicious," added Apple, taking a sip of her milkshake.

[onaroll]

“The maple’s really good! It’s not something I have often, but it’s a lot more complex than honey, isn’t it?”

[horse_nerd]

"Maple is delicious," replied Twilight. "I used to have it in the winter in Canterlot."

[onaroll]

“Ah! I’ve heard of that! You pour maple syrup over fresh snow, right?”

[horse_nerd]

"That's right! You bring the maple syrup to a half boil and then pour it into fresh snow. It makes candy." said Twilight.
