It's taken her the better part of a month to set up the transportation network, but Amelie finally has her hoops in pretty much every major city of Equestria now. She takes a moment to drop a message over the mirrors before finishing her preparations and stepping through a hoop to the center of town.

"Bonjour! This is Amelie; I was wondering if anyone wanted to join me for a little trip? I'll be going to various places using my portal hoops to sample the local cuisine; if anyone wants to join me I'll be in the center of town for the next half hour before I leave!"

Amelie is very much looking forward to spending an entire day traveling and eating, and that excitement is expressed quite clearly in her body language as she waits for anyone to show up.

"What's that mean?" asked Megumin.

"I'll tell you when you're older," said Twilight, following behind the mare as Apple giggled behind them.

[onaroll]

Yeah, not the best conversation to have in public. How did it even come up, anyway?

Amelie is obviously far too innocent to have had a part in it.

[explosions_are_awesome]

CLEARLY. The three mares follow Amelie through the hoop. "Where to?" Asked Megumin.

[onaroll]

“Right there!”

Amlie points across the street to a small shop named ‘Soul Sister’.

“They do a really good onion soup.”

[cidery]

"I could do with a good onion soup, it'll be nice and warm," said Apple with a cheery expression.

The other two nodded as they followed Amelie towards the restaurant. "Its a hole in a wall restaurant!" said Twilight. "It's so charming!"

[onaroll]

It’s small enough that there isn’t a waitress - you just walk over to the counter, place an order, and grab a table.

“Four orders of onion soup, please? And can we have extra crackers?”

Three guesses who the extra crackers are for.

Megumin obviously as the three took their seats, and Twilight looked around. "However did you find this place?"

[onaroll]

A tray with four bowls of soup is placed before Amelie, who proceeds to float it over to the table. From the way the pink glow of her magic surrounds it, she is floating only the tray, likely to avoid the magical equivalent of sticking her thumb in the soup.

"Oh, ah...I brought Hunter with me when I was doing the investigation work and they were doing a tomato soup that day, so she dragged me over here."

Amelie's not entirely sure why her Rattata loves tomatoes so much, but she is willing to roll with it.

"Tomato soup is pretty good, but this smells divine," said Apple with a wide smile. "Let's dig in."

"So the crackers go into the soup?" asked Megumin.

"Typically yes," said Twilight as she floated her package over and crumbled it.

[onaroll]

Amelie discretely drops her package of crackers into a hoop before filling her spoon with just the broth and sipping.

"The broth is amazing!"

[cidery]

"Oh it's rich!" exclaimed Apple. "So good...!"

"I normally don't eat onion but this is really amazing," said Megumin as Twilight nodded, sipping her own soup.

[onaroll]

"The onions are really good, too, don't you think? You don't get this kind of color on them without a lot of time and patience."

[explosions_are_awesome]

"Yeah it's a nice rich flavor, and I like the color." Megumin sipped her soup again and then took a bigger spoonful. "What's this baked atop it?"

[onaroll]

“Slice of Kalosian bread, toasted, with melted cheese.”

She refuses to say either ‘French’ or ‘Prench’. She has standards she has to live up to, after all. In the meantime, though...

“That reminds me, Twilight, do you drink at all?”

[horse_nerd]

"That's pretty good then," said Megumin as she took a bite of the bread.

"Me? Sometimes, for royal occasions and dinners, but I've had some of Applejack's hard cider before. Got a drink in mind?" asked Twilight.

[onaroll]

“Our next stop is a bar that does really nice appetizers, so I wanted to be sure.”

[horse_nerd]

"That's fine with me," replied Twilight. "I'm all right wit hthat. Will Megumin be okay?"

"I'm okay," replied Megumin, giving her a pony salute. "All good here!"

[onaroll]

Amelie nods at that.

“From what she’s been saying, her world doesn’t have filtration yet so she’s been drinking ale for most of her life.”

[cidery]

"That must be rough," said Twilight.

"It's like how some remote parts of Ever After can be, but that's very rare since modern conveniences have taken over 99% of Ever After." added Apple.

[onaroll]

“Apple and I are going to grab some friends and help Megumin defeat the Demon Lord so she can come live with us.”

[explosions_are_awesome]

"That's nice of you," said Twilight as Megumin nodded. "Is there anything else I can help with, with that idea?"

[onaroll]

"Probably! Let's table it for now, though?"

Focus on the soup. It's very good.

[cidery]

The soup is incredible, and soon, all three girls were in the varying stages of finishing up. "Ah, that's nice and warm, just what we needed." said Apple.

[onaroll]

Amelie nods in agreement, floating a few extra bits over to the tip jar before standing up.

"Well then, shall we head to the next stop?"

She moves to the side and speaks to Twilight in a low murmur.

"When we go outside, mantle your wings a little? Full extension isn't necessary, just make it very obvious you have them. Half their profits go to charity and they could use some good word of mouth."

Twilight smiled and nodded in reply. Once out, she made a show of yawning in a satisfied manner and stretching her wings, and ponies noticed that the Princess of Friendship was eating there. "That was really delicious," she declared in just a loud enough voice to sound really satisfied.
