It's taken her the better part of a month to set up the transportation network, but Amelie finally has her hoops in pretty much every major city of Equestria now. She takes a moment to drop a message over the mirrors before finishing her preparations and stepping through a hoop to the center of town.

"Bonjour! This is Amelie; I was wondering if anyone wanted to join me for a little trip? I'll be going to various places using my portal hoops to sample the local cuisine; if anyone wants to join me I'll be in the center of town for the next half hour before I leave!"

Amelie is very much looking forward to spending an entire day traveling and eating, and that excitement is expressed quite clearly in her body language as she waits for anyone to show up.

"Getting punched is okay. The inside of a toad is something I'd rather not deal with again. Three times was enough." said Megumin softly, a slight haunted expression on her face.

Apple pet her comfortingly.

Taking one last bite of her pasta, Megumin groaned as she sat her fork down. "I think I'm good for now," said Megumin, having about half of her massive stack of pasta left.

[onaroll]

Amelie waves over the waitress and asks for both the check and some takeout containers, glad to not be thinking about Megumin getting eaten by toads. Three times. In no time, they’re presented with both, and it is the work of a few minutes to pack up the leftovers and deposit them inside one of Amelie’s hoops. She also takes the opportunity to replace her already-full camera with one of the duplicates she made earlier.

“Well, shall we go meet up with Twilight before our next stop?”

"Yes, lets. She'll be probably hungry by now." said Apple as Megumin followed behind with them.

[onaroll]

“Well, let’s see...I left the hoop to here open, do you think she would have come through, or should we go back to the palace to pick her up?”

[horse_nerd]

"No need girls, I'm already here!" Exclaimed Twilight as she arrived. "Oh this is going to be so exciting!"

[onaroll]

Come through it is, then! Amelie beams.

“Magnifique! Back to Manehattan we go, then!”

She gestures grandly with one hoof as she opens a hoop for them to walk through.

[explosions_are_awesome]

"What's gelato anyhow?" asked Megumin as they stopped in front of the location. "It looks good though."

[onaroll]

Gardenia Glitter's Gelaterie is very small, so when Megumin asks that question every pony in the shop hears her. They all turn to stare at her incredulously before Amelie waves them down.

"It's a kind of ice cream, but it's churned very slowly, so less air makes it in, making it very dense and rich. You'll like it!"

"We've got a shop like that in Ever After as well," said Apple. "Though this place looks great!"

Twilight, in the meantime was looking through the flavors and deciding on one. "Any recommendations?" she asked.

[onaroll]

"You're friends with Pear Butter's daughter, right? Why not try the caramel apple pie flavor?"

Amelie leans forward a little bit, checking the other flavors.

"We had a friend back in Waverly Bay that was always making strawberry treats; I think I'll have that flavor."

It'd be nice if she could tell Ichigo and Alice about the engagement, she's pretty sure they'd be delighted.

[horse_nerd]

"Caramel Apple Pie sounds delicious, I'll get that then," said Twilight, nodding.

"I think I'll get this one um... Almond Butter and Honey Gelato?" said Megumin. "Is it anything like ice cream because I don't know what that is either."

"We'll have to teach you more modern food soon, Megumin," said Apple. "Caramel Cookie please."

[onaroll]

To the side, a tall blue stallion with a Cutie Mark of an ice cream cone in front of a rainbow hears Megumin's statement and gasps, clutching at his chest with one hoof as he staggers a little. After Amelie passes some bits to the mare working the register, she moves over to him and starts holding a conversation in low tones before returning to the other three.

"Alright, once we've gotten our gelato we can grab a table outside, and I convinced Caster Cream not to tell you the complete history of ice cream while we eat."

Pause.

"But, ah...try to look especially delighted when you taste it? It's important to him in some kind of Cutie Mark-related way I don't entirely understand."

"Um, okay?"

Taking her dish as they went outside, Megumin took a bite of the cold dessert.

There was a long, pregnant pause for a moment before Megumin started wolfing it down and then exclaimed, "HEADACHE! But aaaaah so good!"

[onaroll]

Amelie raises one hoof in a 'Victory!' sort of way to Caster Cream, who draws himself up and salutes, tears pouring silently down his face. 'Bravo, brave child' he mouths silently, 'Bravo.'

That over with, Amelie tries her own strawberry gelato.

It is delicious.

Apple was working on her own gelato, short even bites coming from her as she made an appreciative noise. "This is really good," she said.

"It is! So you three have been eating good all day then," said Twilight, spooning up her own gelato.

[onaroll]

"Espresso and pastries as a pre-breakfast snack, flannel hash for breakfast, a quick snack of crepes, you already know about brunch, pasta for lunch, and now we're here."

Amelie sucks on her spoon as she considers, sliding it out slowly as she continues talking.

"The next two stops we can go to in any order, actually...after eating this, do you want something warmer?"

[horse_nerd]

"Something warmer might be a good idea," said Twilight thoughtfully.

"I'm good with that," said Megumin, hissing as she ice cream headached again.

"Maybe for Megumin's sake," giggled Apple.

[onaroll]

"Alright, after this we're off to San Franciscolt, then."

Amelie overcomes the urge to grimace at the pun by eating more of her gelato.

[explosions_are_awesome]

"All these puns," snickered Megumin, knowing it would get a rise out of Amelie.

"Megumin," said Apple and Twilight giggled.

[onaroll]

Amelie puts one hoof into a hoop, draws it out, and proceeds to mist Megumin with a spray bottle.

"No."

It seems kind of strange that Amelie has a dedicated hoop for a spray bottle, but on the other hand, she also enjoys using her hoops to pop out of the ground like an oversized rabbit.

"ackphoosdfsdf!" Exclaimed Megumin with a giggle. "Oh puns aren't that bad. They might be the lowest form of comedy but..."

"She just doesn't like puns," said Apple.

[onaroll]

Amelie, trusting her point has been made, puts the spray bottle back in the hoop and very pointedly eats her gelato.

The three share a muffled giggle as they ate and finished their gelatos as well, and Twilight sighed in delight. "This is a good starting point for me."
