It's taken her the better part of a month to set up the transportation network, but Amelie finally has her hoops in pretty much every major city of Equestria now. She takes a moment to drop a message over the mirrors before finishing her preparations and stepping through a hoop to the center of town.

"Bonjour! This is Amelie; I was wondering if anyone wanted to join me for a little trip? I'll be going to various places using my portal hoops to sample the local cuisine; if anyone wants to join me I'll be in the center of town for the next half hour before I leave!"

Amelie is very much looking forward to spending an entire day traveling and eating, and that excitement is expressed quite clearly in her body language as she waits for anyone to show up.

"It's a small farm, actually; there's an old man, his granddaughter, and a scientist that live there. And the wine is blue."

Oran Berries! ~*Jazz Hands*~

There are no actual jazz hands.

[cidery]

"It sounds delicious!" Exclaimed Megumin. "I've never seen blue wine before."

"There's a really sparkly drink sold in Ponyville too," said Apple. "I'll get us a bottle of it later."

[onaroll]

"Maybe in the future I'll try growing something else to make a new kind of wine...it's something to consider, anyway!"

Amelie takes a sip of her wine before returning her attention to her salad.

[explosions_are_awesome]

"Yeah. Oh and here comes our food. Oh wow..." said Megumin, staring at the mountain of spaghetti.

"Generous," said Apple with a grin.

[onaroll]

Amelie blinks.

"I wasn't expecting this kind of portion size...grazie!"

For some reason, it didn't quite feel right to use Kalosian there.

[cidery]

"I guess it looks bigger than the menu," said Megumin. "I might need your help to share... Or we could put leftovers away for Twilight."

[onaroll]

"Save the leftovers, we'll want some room for the next stop."

Amelie was dead serious about this lasting clear through to midnight.

[explosions_are_awesome]

"Yeah that's true," said Megumin, taking a bite of her pasta and finding it delicious. "I'll eat what I need right now."

[onaroll]

"Ah, the penne is delicious! The basil in the sauce is quite good, as well..."

There's a pause as Amelie considers something before turning to Apple.

"Chérie? I've decided. I'm going to plant some herbs in the yard; is there anything you want?"

[cidery]

"Hmm, I could use some basil and sage, so I can cook savory meals," said Apple thoughtfully. "And some ginger if the climate is temperate enough."

[onaroll]

"I already know how to grow ginger indoors, I'll set it up tomorrow."

A thoughtful sip of wine.

"I'd like some mint, but that gets everywhere...chives, maybe?"

[explosions_are_awesome]

"If we can set aside an individual plot for it, mint would be nice. Chives definitely." said Apple.

"So you grow your own herbs then?" asked Megumin. "Sounds like home."

[onaroll]

"I grew all the berries for the estate wine myself. Working in the field is kind of a soothing hobby for me, honestly."

Amelie nibbles on one of the oranges from her salad as she continues talking.

"If we get more things from home in the future, it'd be nice if I got some Berries..."

[cidery]

"Berries are fruits from your world right?" asked Megumin as she worked on her salad as well.

"It's from Amelie's world, they're the more popular fruits and vegetables, right?" said Apple.

[onaroll]

Nod nod.

"They have different effects, too - a Pecha Berry can be used as an antivenom for Pokemon poison, for example."

[explosions_are_awesome]

"Food as antidotes? Sign me up for that," giggled Megumin. "I wouldn't mind being able to eat just to recover my health."

[onaroll]

“Well, no matter what kind of Pokemon it is, they all only produce one kind of venom, so...”

Amelie makes a few gestures with her fork as she considers.

“It’s like...they standardized? If I still had the right tools I could make both Jeanne and Joyuese venomous right now and it’d be exactly the same kind of venom.”

[cidery]

"I've never heard of that before. Your Pokemon must be pretty different than the venomous creatures back home." said Megumin.

"It's not so bad either." said Apple. "Antidotes are also plentiful."

[onaroll]

“Pokemon are pretty adaptable, honestly. It was kind of strange for me to get used to what people from other worlds think is normal.”

Amelie’s mostly gotten used to it at this point, though.

[explosions_are_awesome]

"Well, at least there's no man-eating giant toads in your world." said Megumin.

A pause. "Are there?"

[onaroll]

Pause.

“I don’t think...so?”

Amelie wracks her brain, trying to remember what a ‘toad’ is.

...oh, right, one of those things, aren’t they...

“No, no. None that eat people, anyway. At worse, they might punch you of you get too close to their nests, I guess?”

[cidery]

"Getting punched is okay. The inside of a toad is something I'd rather not deal with again. Three times was enough." said Megumin softly, a slight haunted expression on her face.

Apple pet her comfortingly.

[onaroll]

Taking one last bite of her pasta, Megumin groaned as she sat her fork down. "I think I'm good for now," said Megumin, having about half of her massive stack of pasta left.

[onaroll]

Amelie waves over the waitress and asks for both the check and some takeout containers, glad to not be thinking about Megumin getting eaten by toads. Three times. In no time, they’re presented with both, and it is the work of a few minutes to pack up the leftovers and deposit them inside one of Amelie’s hoops. She also takes the opportunity to replace her already-full camera with one of the duplicates she made earlier.

“Well, shall we go meet up with Twilight before our next stop?”
