It's taken her the better part of a month to set up the transportation network, but Amelie finally has her hoops in pretty much every major city of Equestria now. She takes a moment to drop a message over the mirrors before finishing her preparations and stepping through a hoop to the center of town.

"Bonjour! This is Amelie; I was wondering if anyone wanted to join me for a little trip? I'll be going to various places using my portal hoops to sample the local cuisine; if anyone wants to join me I'll be in the center of town for the next half hour before I leave!"

Amelie is very much looking forward to spending an entire day traveling and eating, and that excitement is expressed quite clearly in her body language as she waits for anyone to show up.

Putting her fork down, Megumin sighed deeply. "That... was good," she proclaimed. "It was some of the most delicious food in the world."

[onaroll]

"We haven't even hit the halfway point yet."

Amelie's clearly amused by Megumin's proclamation.

[cidery]

"She's right you know. Pace yourself a little more Megumin," said Apple, making Megumin blush.

"I'll be able to eat all you'll see!" Exclaimed Megumin.

[onaroll]

It doesn’t take long to sort out the payment, and they’re soon outside Honey Dazzler’s with a takeout container. Amelie turns to the other two and speaks a few words.

“This is going to look really weird, but bear with me, alright?”

With that, a hoop forms around her neck and her head disappears. As her body stands there, it adjusts itself slightly, sitting down and trying to get comfortable.

Naturally, ponies are staring. So many ponies are staring.

Megumin is staring.

"How?" asked Megumin.

"It's like Amelie's party trick," giggled Apple.

[onaroll]

Amelie’s head reappears, the hoop around her neck vanishing as it does.

“I can directly form my hoops on living bodies. When I do that, they’re still in one piece, they’re just no longer continuous.”

With that, she opens up another hoop large enough to walk through and steps inside. On the other side, naturally, is Twilight’s crystal palace. She takes a moment to knock on the door with one hoof.

The door opens moments later, as Twilight appears. "Oh hello Amelie, I thought you were..." She looks over at the hoop and waves. "I see, you're taking a short visit then?"

[onaroll]

Nod nod.

"We were having brunch in Neigh Orleans and Megumin thought you would like this."

There's a pause as she holds up both takeout boxes.

"It's Eggs Sardou from Honey Dazzler's - a poached egg on an artichoke half with creamed spinach and hollandaise sauce. There's one for you and one for Starlight; I hope you enjoy them!"

[horse_nerd]

"Oh my goodness, I heard of this place but I never got a reservation for it before!" Twilight took the boxes as she giggled.

"This will be perfect for lunch today! Thank you so much! Maybe later once I'm done studying I'll join you. Where were you three headed?"

[onaroll]

"Ah...well, our next stop is Dodge Junction; I could leave the hoop up if you wanted to join us after lunch?"

[horse_nerd]

"Sure, I can do that," said Twilight. "Oh I can't wait!"

[onaroll]

You are going to gain so much weight, Twilight. Amelie's not going to mention that, though.

"Enjoy your lunch, and we'll see you later!"

Amelie proceeds to create another hoop, waving Megumin and Apple through it.

[cidery]

"She's joining us?" said Apple. "That'll be nice. There'll be more food for all of us."

"Yeah, and she's been nice enough to give me a home so..." said Megumin. "Where to next?"

[onaroll]

Amelie gestures expansively around the area beyond the hoop.

"This is Dodge Junction!"

Materializing her skates again, she glides off, still chattering.

"We're having lunch at a place called Big Little Tony's. I don't know why it's called that, but they serve classic Neightalian food, so I hope you like pasta."

And wine. That's the real reason Amelie chose this one, she wants to drink red wine.

"Ooooh so like noodles right?" said Megumin. "I've had a little of that. I want to try it all!"

"It'll be heavy so pace yourself," said Apple as she smiled at the idea of eating more.

[onaroll]

“Would you like to see something neat?”

Without waiting for an answer, Amelie kicks off on her skates, activating the rocket boost before vanishing into a hoop that spits her back out behind the other two. As she continues to rocket towards them at highly unsafe speeds, she starts to pirouette. Right before a collision is imminent, she hurls herself into a backflip, still doing the pirouette - three rotations of her body as she goes through the backflip before landing lightly on all four hooves and immediately dumping all momentum.

“And that’s the Cosmic Flip!”

The fact that this showy display helped burn off some of the excess calories from brunch had no influence on Amelie deciding to do it at all. Nope.

Megumin applauded, grinning. "That was awesome! I mean, it wasn't an explosion but it was definitely cool."

Apple giggled as well, nodding. "She's very proud of the Cosmic Flip."

[onaroll]

“The only other person in Kalos that even knows how to do it is the man who taught me, who invented it in the first plate.”

She looks very pleased with herself.

[explosions_are_awesome]

"Oh so it's an exclusive art. I can get behind that." said Megumin with a nod. "It must have taken a long time to learn though."

[onaroll]

Amelie pauses, thinking.

“Ah...about an hour to get through the abandoned, haunted hotel he was living in...a dozen duels with his followers, who were mostly teenage delinquents...another fifteen minutes to catch a few ghosts to train...and then, I want to say...forty five minutes to master the Cosmic Flip? Then I just popped an Escape Rope and teleported out. So about two and a half hours?”

Megumin gave her a pony thumbs up which was a upraised hoof in a somewhat salute. "A Plus Effort," declared Megumin with a wide grin.

"She's a determined girl. I love that about her." said Apple.

[onaroll]

Praise from Apple evokes the usual response.

“I’ve just always been good at physical stuff, that’s all...”

Well, anyway, the restaurant is right there, so it’s time to eat now.

[explosions_are_awesome]

"Okay, so what's on the menu next?" asked Megumin as they stepped towards the restaurant. "You said pasta right?"

[onaroll]

Nod nod.

“I understand they do a very nice penne with roasted vegetables here, but you might like the spaghetti instead. I’ll leave it up to you, honestly.”

As they walk inside, a waitress escorts them to a table and waits for them to sit down before taking their order.

“Ah, three orders of the fennel and orange salad and a bottle of the house red? I’ll also have the penne with roasted vegetables - what will you two have?”

"I'll take the spaghetti," said Megumin after consideration. "Apple?"

"Penne. And some extra garlic bread if you have any."
