It's taken her the better part of a month to set up the transportation network, but Amelie finally has her hoops in pretty much every major city of Equestria now. She takes a moment to drop a message over the mirrors before finishing her preparations and stepping through a hoop to the center of town.

"Bonjour! This is Amelie; I was wondering if anyone wanted to join me for a little trip? I'll be going to various places using my portal hoops to sample the local cuisine; if anyone wants to join me I'll be in the center of town for the next half hour before I leave!"

Amelie is very much looking forward to spending an entire day traveling and eating, and that excitement is expressed quite clearly in her body language as she waits for anyone to show up.

"I guess so," said Megumin, looking through the window longingly at the incredibly tasty looking Eclairs. She had eaten hers already.

Apple smiled and broke hers in half and offered it to Megumin as she sipped her coffee. "This is still amazing, and this is going to BE amazing."

“Your tail is beautifully silky, you obviously take very good care of it.”

The waitress has arrived with the gougeres and Amelie is very busy being Amelie. The complimented tail is a rich chestnut brown, contrasting with the white of her coat.

Amelie is very fond of mares with white coats. She is especially fond of making them blush.

Megumin leaned over to Apple, mouth full of eclair as she asked quietly, "Hey, your fiancee is flirting. Shouldn't you be getting jealous or something?"

Apple shook her head as she nibbled at her half. "It's what makes Amelie, Amelie. Speaking of which, these gougeres look so tasty! They smell amazing."

Apple took a bite of hers as she made a pleased noise. "Amelie it's even better than expected!"

Amelie nods in agreement, beaming.

“Normally, they use Gruyere for a very subtle cheese flavor, but the menu here says they use aged Parmesan. The difference really is striking, isn’t it? The subtle hint of nutmeg is also quite pleasant.”

As Amelie signals for the check, she glances over at Megumin.

“Also, the reason Apple is fine with me being an incorrigible flirt is because she knows that I’m incapable of doing anything that would make her sad. I am a woman that lives for love, after all, and Apple’s love os the finest there is.”

"It's a nice difference," said Apple as she beamed at the second part as Megumin blinked a little.

"I guess different people, different worlds, that sort of thing." said Megumin.

As the check arrives, Amelie inspects it briefly before levitating out her wallet and pulling out enough bits for it and a generous tip for the silky-tailed waitress. The glowing magical field that surrounds her horn as she does this is the same crystalline pink as the diamond embedded in her foreleg. With a satisfied little sigh, she finishes her espresso and waits for her friend and her fiancee to finish as well.

“This is the sort of very light breakfast I used to have back home when I was in Lumiose. Next up is a more Unovan meal - tell me, have either of you ever heard of flannel hash?”

She’s grinning. Whatever is coming next, she’s looking forward to the surprise she is about to spring.

Finishing up, the pair exchanged glances as Megumin said, "It sounds good. What kind of food is it?"

Apple knew, but she decided to keep it a secret for Amelie as she added, "It's potatoes isn't it?"

Standing up, the rollerskates materialize again and Amelie glides off, still talking.

“It’s a combination of beets, fennel, and potatoes, chopped up and sauteed together. The place we’re going is a little diner in Seaddle where they also mix in apples, eggs, and cheddar! They also do freshly squeezed juices - personally, I’d recommend the grapefruit juice.”

By this point the three of them are around the corner from the cafe, so Amelie goes ahead and opens up a hoop to Seaddle.

Megumin and Apple keep up as Megumin licks her lips. "Now that I can get behind. It's just another stop though right?"

Apple giggled. "Of course. When Amelie says all day, she means all day."

[onaroll]

“Whatever you do, give it your everything! After this, we can grab a quick snack and go for a stroll before brunch!”

Yes, she did in fact say brunch. So much food is going to be consumed today.

Actually, she should say something about that - Megumin will probably be fine, but Apple...

“Apple, remember - we’re shapeshifters, so you don’t have to eat lightly, okay? A good night’s sleep and you’ll just reset to your self-image.”

"Oh right!" Exclaimed Apple, grinning. "I honestly almost forgot about that. Almost. Thanks for reminding me!"

"I forget, what's the shapeshifting thing about?" asked Megumin.

Amelie starts to glow white; as the glow dies down her skates vanish, leaving all her changes visible - the large, lionlike paws replacing her hooves, the twitching catlike ears on top of her head, and the long tufted tail waving behind her. She looks like a strange combination of unicorn pony and lion - a catfilly, as it were.

“Our bodies are basically made of magic, so they’re malleable to a certain degree. I can’t change my face or torso, but I’ve met Gems that couldn’t change at all and ones that could change their entire body, so...it’s probably one of those individual difference things, like how I can create illusions or how Apple can always tell when someone is lying.”

"Oh that's cool. It's like how I have Explosion magic, that's unique to me." said Megumin with a nod.

"That's right. And don't worry, we'll be able to show you some of our other abilities too, like being able to eat a ton." giggled Apple.

Amelie returns to being a normal pink unicorn just as they reach the diner. Grinning, she holds the door open for Apple.

“Beauty before exuberance!”

Apple smiled, leaning over to give Amelie a quick kiss before she ushered a wide-eyed Megumin who was looking around at the Diner. "This place is neat," she said, the young mage finding their table.

"I like it!" Exclaimed Apple. "It's so rustic!"

Amelie takes a moment to exult in the kiss before following them in.

“Hi! Table for three, s’il vous plait?”

As the waitress leads them to a booth, Amelie’s gaze remains fixed on Apple - apparently this particular waitress isn’t her type.

“Three orders of the deluxe flannel hash, please? And I’ll have a glass of the grapefruit juice...Megumin, Apple, do you want anything to drink?”

"I'll have the sour apple juice please," said Apple. "And Megumin?"

"I'll uh..." Megumin puzzled over the menu for a moment before she added, "The sweet apple juice."

The waitress nodded and wrote down their orders before smiling and heading off. "This place has a nice decor," said Apple. "There's a lot of old fashioned homestead stuff here in this diner."

“It is nice, isn’t it? I like places like this.”

There’s a pause as she looks around.

“It makes me wish I still had my camera, honestly.”

[explosions_are_awesome]

"We should pick one up before we head onto other places," said Apple.

"Camera?" asked Megumin. "Is that anything like a magic image box?"

[onaroll]

“Something like that, oui. Back in Lumiose, the cafes double as social clubs, and I spent a lot of time at Shutterbug Cafe learning how to take photos. It’s a surprisingly involved process!”

[cidery]

"Huh, that would be handy then," said Megumin with a nod. "I guess I shouldn't be surprised other worlds have similar things."

"That's right. Oh and I can smell the food from here!" Exclaimed Apple with a grin.

[onaroll]

Amelie pauses, taking a deep breath before nodding.

“Ah, so can I! It shouldn’t be too much longer, then!”

[explosions_are_awesome]

"I can't wait," said Megumin, grinning widely as she rubbed her hooves together. "This is going to be delicious."

And it was basically the summary, as the food smells reached them, and soon, three heaping plates came out with their order of juices.

There’s a pause as Amelie breathes in the scent and takes a moment to enjoy the vibrantly red color the beets lend to the dish, contrasting the bright orange cheese and the slightly pink color of the potatoes and apples scattered throughout.

“いただきます!”

With that out of the way, she takes her first bite of the hash, sighing in appreciation at the flavors.

Taking a forkful, Megumin's eyes widened in surprise. "This is incredible!" She exclaimed, taking a few more rapid bites and then nipping at the drink. "Oh I could eat this forever!"

"It is good isn't it?" said Apple, chewing eagerly and smiling at Amelie. "Good choice for this stop."
